Who uses the World Scale option to change the scale of aircraft cockpits?

Does anyone use the World Scale option to change the scale of aircraft cockpits?
Is there any solution to set this setting per aircraft using a utility or config file to save having to manually change this per aircraft when needed? Would anyone be interested in such a tool if one does exist?

I’ve played with it, but not needed to use it yet.

I don’t, but only because I don’t want to screw with it any time I load a new aircraft. Carenado pits are often too small. A few helos are too big, but the problem isn’t worth the bother to me

If you could, similar to Aircraft Control Presets for MSFS (Pro Version Only - Max 10 connected devices) - YouTube would it be worthwhile?

I use it, around 115-120%. Iris PC-21.

Hi, yes I use it 115% is perfect for me

Many Thanks.

AFAIK it can be only set globally, not per aircraft. The setting is individual, dependent on individual IPD (interpupillary distance) and individual perception of scale in stereoscopic vision.

Yup, another reason why a utility to automate this would be great as not all aircraft scale the same in VR.

I get the feeling that at least some of the cockpits are undersized, but is there any way of objectively determining this and by how much? Pico 4 user here with an IPD of 70.

I think it is very much subjective. I’ve only come across one aircraft so far that I feel I need to make an obvious change to the world scale for it to look right. There are maybe others that could benefit from a small tweak but not a necessity.

It doesn’t seem to be a problem for most people or aircraft, in that case, unless I’m reading it wrong?

Around 110% is the sweetspot for me.

I suspect a lot of people don’t consider changing this value as the majority of aircraft look okay. It wasn’t until I came across this aircraft (JustFlight F28) that I really felt it looked off in VR. Changed the world scale and it looked spot on. I then went back to revisit other aircraft and actually made a few small changes to the render scale to get them spot on. I could of left these aircraft as they were but once you start fine tuning this option, it does make an appreciable difference in VR.

I set the C172 to 112%.

Source: I fly one irl 3x week.

EDIT: I also have a to-scale panel built, so I scale it until the magneto switch on the far left, and flaps switch on the right are in the right spots when I peek outside my headset.

I have a hard time noticing much difference. Although I set globally for the IPD measurement from my eye doctor.

I feel at home when I sit in a real C172. Only difference is things look a little more clear.

I set mine to 110% as I flew the C172 a fair bit, I do the same for the Tiger Moth as well.

I get the same feeling here, although it’s very rare.
The most obvious example would be the default DC-3, in which the cockpit looks like 50% of the size it should be. The seats look like child seats, really.

But that’s not a VR or sim settings problem. It’s a modeling problem, the 3D model proportions are just wrong.

The only way to verify it would be to try to display one of the default MSFS avatars for example in the copilot seat. These avatars are independent from the aircraft model, so it will be like a reference to evaluate the size of the cockpit. I expect an avatar cannot even fit in the seat of the DC3…

I don’t have a problem with other default planes though… Maybe the Beaver cockpit feels a bit large, but I’m not sure.

A save option for scaling for each individual aircraft would be useful. If you load a plane a scale config is loaded too.

A few that i routinely adjust world scale for (115% usually does the trick): the default 172, the Maddog, the SSW F104G.
