Why a racing car?

There are excellent simulators available for all of these. MSFS is a Flight Simulator.

dont know a driving simulator that lets you drive through the Alps

Yes, and wouldn’t it be great if all those excellent simulators shared a world?

When I fly somewhere in real life, I see farms and vehicles and boats and trains out the window. We have that in MSFS too, but the ones that are there in the sim are robotic. Having other real people, playing other sims and sharing our world would add life. Imagine barnstorming across the North American prairies in a Stearman Model 75, overflying farm sim players playing their sims? Or flying that biplane alongside trains
And imagine how the combined resources of many games, fleshing out the simulated world’s graphics, would improve the world for all players of all those games. At present, roads, farms and railways are usually just satelite images taped onto terrain. They’d be actual objects in a shared sim because players of those sims require them to be more than just images.

Anyhow, I know I am being idealistic. Inevitably some [rate of change of acceleration with respect to time] would ruin it for all and we’d have to turn off multiplayer, but we’d still have the shared world that would be better than the world we currently have.

I posted a commet awhile back I like this topic for its comic relief. However it proves that no matter what it is someone will find somthing to complain about even if this car has absolutely no effect on their game play. Dream Scenery as a example too. It seems the mission is to convince you not to buy the product. Anyways I asked my son about the ocean of complaints in this fourm. I only play MSFS. He is a gamer who will spend $10k on a computer tobe 1 milliseconds faster to peak around a corner and shoot. He plays Apex. He said dont worry about it ALL fourms are like that and ignore. At least you dont have cheaters. Lol.

I’d take a contrarian position. High performance cars are very aerodynamically dependent. It’d be a great way to demonstrate flight models if they were able to properly simulate a track-configured Corvette or something.

I hope I can enlighten you and possibly cause some more mirth.
Seriously, it isnt a car or motorbike etc in themselves. None of these work well in a flight simulator. If they are encouraged, inevitable people will start asking for changes to the simulator to accomodate these. In the end we will end up with a camel, what was supposed to be a sleek racing horse.
Wait forc2024 version. That will accomodate more road vehicles.

I understand where you’re coming from! A racing car in a flight simulator does seem a bit out of place at first glance. But thinking about it, it might appeal to sim enthusiasts who love experimenting with different experiences, even if they’re not entirely in line with traditional flying.

It’s similar to having a highly specialized setup, like when I was searching for a BMW workshop near me—you’d think they’re all about cars, but some workshops now even offer tuning and detailing services that go beyond the standard mechanical work. It’s all about expanding the ecosystem of what’s possible, I guess.

Maybe this racing car addition is a sign MSFS is trying to widen its appeal. Still, like you, I’d prefer they stick to planes—there’s always room for more incredible aircraft in the lineup!
