Why am i able to stand on water?

Why am I able to stand on water upon leaving the aircraft landed on water ?

I’m guessing the sim makes no buoyancy calculations. An object is simply on or off a surface.
If you sank, so would the aircraft.

Moved from Sim Update 3 Beta | MSFS 2024.

This has been the case since MSFS 2024 was released (e.g. the comment by @CharlieFox00 " I did exit and found I could walk on water…" here).

The sim does not model water depth (oceans, seas, lakes or rivers), so the avatar is only standing in around an inch of water.

I suppose it’s fine as the dev team has a lot of other features to sort out. Even if you could swim you wouldn’t see it as your in first person view until you escape out. :slightly_smiling_face:

Because it’s not Grand Theft Auto.

Exactly.
Personally I am a fan of a simulator that just ignores anything that a human would never do. Waste of effort in my opnion.

I agree in general. But in this case, humans do land float planes on water, don snorkel gear, and swim. It’s way too much to ask of this flight simulator, but it would be pretty cool.

It’s usable this way, because the edge between land and water isn’t perfect. Together with Alt+P command for pushback everywhere, the possibility to hop on land makes bush flying a bit easier.
