Why are there no 787-10 liveries?

Very depressing as the 787 is my goto plane and the AP is quite nice. Way better than the 737 etc… i have the top edition and thought I was paying to get liveries or at least the option to buy.

Is there any hope?

Just to make us all sick to heart, this is my favorite 787 shot from MSFS 2020 at Lake Tahoe California… AGhhhhh… check the gull-like wing loading in the turn… nothing like this in the current version…

It appears we’re never going to have additional liveries for the 787. It truly kills the immersion when I have to fly from Chicago to Denver on Korean Air.

Asobo obvioulsy has no desire or need for profits.

I have MSFS 2024 Aviator Edition and no United livery option for the 787. It really ruins the immersion when I fly the 787 from Seattle to Miami as KLM.

If you’re super desperate you should be able to disable the 2024 787-10 and enable the 2020 787-10 from My Library - that one does have the United livery but it’s also bugged and may do some pretty wild things in flight if you look at it wrong, so up to you. There’s also the free Horizon 787-9 addon which is now 2024 compatible and that’s got just about every livery you could need on a 787.

Second the suggestion for the Horizon Sim 787-9 mod. It adds some synoptic pages, a big bunch of new liveries, and fixes the crazy/busted thrust reversers/spoiler physics bug that occurs when using the Premium Deluxe 787-10 FS2020 version in ‘24.

I saw the 787-9 is compatable with 2024 then? I think I like that better than -10 anyways and if it works and has a bunch of liveries I will download it from Orbx now at some point. It’s gone from flightsim.to right now but hopefully it will be re-add to that since it’s a new version that was old on Flightsimto.com. Anyways do I download it and put it in my community folder or do I have to disable the 2024 version of the 787 which isn’t really that good anyways to get the -9 working?

Thank you,

Kurt.

The Horizon Sim mod is as of about a week or ten day ago. The caveat is that MUST have the 2020 version of the Premium Deluxe 787-10, NOT the 2024 version.

I tried it the other day and in the config menu during aircraft selection, half the textures and the landing gear were missing on the rendered model. Perhaps I need to install it to the 2020 version and link it in Orbx to the 2024 version. Strange.

I for one, would be interested to hear what Jorg has to say about this Livery situation, when he next appears in a Q&A.

Did you have the 2020 version of the Asobo 787-10 enabled through My Library?

I have it in the library but I haven’t enable the 2020 version though.

That’s your problem. You MUST have the 2020 version enabled in FS2024 to use the Horizon Sim 787-9 mod in 2024.

That’s probably it, but I’ll have to take a look after dinner and work. I don’t believe I had it enabled at the time.

Why are so many liveries available for the Asobo 737???

Everyone owns the 737, only PDE owners own the 787-10.

Fewer operators use the 787-10 so there’s fewer real world routes to simulate.

Short-haul flights are easier to/more commonly simulated.

And all that’s without getting into the likely issues around encryption that may make the 787-10 more difficult to work with than the 737 MAX 8.

PDA instead of PDE? Deluxe, Premium and Aviator?

From the perspective of My Library, an Aviator Edition owner owns the Premium Deluxe Edition package, so one could consider an Aviator Edition owner to also be a Premium Deluxe Edition owner.

I was reminded to respond to this thread and for some reason I did not post that there are some new 787 liveries in the Store. They are very nice and the initial versions are 4K, so they take some room but they do run on my 5080 nicely. From Jed Studio. Will find some screen shots:

I have requested UAL.

To this day, only 2 liveries show up on flightsim.to for the 787 in 2024, and one of them is fictional. I would have expected there to be tons of liveries available for the default aircraft by now.
