Why is it so time consuming to get to the latest posts?

Whenever I want to read the newest (latest) post in any topic I have to scroll down through thousands of posts starting from years ago (sorry for the hyperbole!)
There must be an easier way…

Click on the counter on the bottom right (showing current post/total post, and scroll the small slider down. That way you can skip a lot of replies quickly

Got it now. Thanks for your help!

Most boards show posts in chronological order. And usually the only options are to either collapse it to a thread tree view or a full (uncollapsed) view. Discourse was really thinking mobile by providing the mini-scroll bar at the bottom.

If it’s problematic on your mobile device, consider using a stylus, as that provides finer ergonomic control.

Discourse?

Discourse is the software the forum runs on

There is. Don’t open the topic. Instead click to the right of the title over the number of replies. Then click the last post arrow and it will open the topic at the latest post.

Yeah that works to!

THANK YOU!
That is a great timesaver for me.

Clicking on the time stamp to the far right also opens the last post

This is the fastest way. Look to the right at the scroll bar. At the bottom of it you will see “2d ago” , “1w ago” click on that and it will immediately take you to the latest reply.
