On the plus side, it is slowly improving (haven’t done a flight yet!), i had an amazing flight in the Fenix (2020) earlier today and I always enjoy chatting with other flight simmers!
I’m a little surprised they didn’t do this. This typically has been something that studios/publishers do, typically 3 days to a week. On the flip side though, I wonder if that would have caught the issues we’re seeing now. Perhaps, but perhaps not.
Hey guys I’ve been stuck for almost 15 hours at 97%, this worked for me so give it a try if you want. go to your C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages in here delete the folder “Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe” then restart the game with a VPN to the USA. This worked for me so hope it will helps some of you guys.
I don’t necessarily think it’s that dumb in this specific title. The install size of the sim is a huge barrier to entry for people (I have seen this first hand with friends, no one is willing to allocate so much storage/spend so long downloading it).
What would be better than what we have right now is the ability to download aircraft (this should be happening but appears bugged), common scenery items, and world updates. Streaming the rest of the content should work fine then, no different than 2020 in photogrammetry areas.
Not been able to play since launch, after seeing this, fired up VPN connected to Dublin, got straight in and have been able to fly around in VR findind it Very smooth and better than 2020 (but then I have never used VPN for 2020)
Somebody needs to fix UK servers 
Oh and I have found a sure fire way to CTD try to create a customised appearance, that CTD my PC EVERY TIME! (even on VPN)
Wait is it literally just the UK then lol? Wow this must be a fun CDN issue, I would not want to be the infra team right now
Apparently they knew about that issue at the Grand Canyon event over a month ago!
It’s not just UK, people on Germany have been having issues too.
It’s going to be a routing issue into various data centers or possibly even a caching/replication issue.
MS has 3 datacenters in the UK if I remember correctly, 1 in Ireland and several across Europe so depending on your isp local and routing you could be hitting a datacenter with CDN issues.
Dublin is just an example that works and probably routes to the Ireland datacenter where someone posted they were northern Ireland and looked like they went to the isle of man which might then go into a UK MS DC.

There’s a not so small chance that there’s just a hardware fault, or a cable issue at the CDNs that serve us, that’s it. Nothing more to it probably. It’ll be fixed when they figure out what’s happening with it.
Either that or someone forgot to tick the “auto configure with Daylight Savings time” box.
I’ve been part of a project that was derailed for 3 days because of that one.
Either way, it’s not a conspiracy, just bad luck.
I got to 98% just now, and its stuck, that’s what i call progress.

I can confirm: using free Proton VPN, connected to US - first seat on the cockpit… Btw I have not airplane sound at all. Manage to set simple controllers.
I have VM, only way I could get it to work was using Macafee VPN in America. No issues from VM using the VPN
Same where, I have made 3 attempts so far, the first 2 attempts got stuck at 97% and the third attempt got stuck at 98% after leaving the sim to load for 6 hours. I think we are the two inaugural members of the 98% club, the follow on club to the 97% club.

Guys I downloaded the free ProtonVPN and whilst limited options it automatically connected to the Netherlands. My sim was already running after I left it attempting to start up last night but prior to running VPN it still would not load into an airport. Restarted Proton and sim started up in a couple of minutes. Flight also started.

I used vpn to USA last night. This morning it’s loading in perfectly from UK without using vpn.
Shhh, it’ll soon fall over if we all try and log on at once!
I’m trying it for the last time today, if it doesn’t work (with a few bugs) then I’ll ask for a refund and wait until 2025.

I managed to take a flight this morning too. But there were still a whole lot of textures missing. The servers are still struggling even at 5am.
Managed, for the first time since owning 2024, to take a flight this morning in free flight. Gotta admit, its looked real pretty. Playing in VR and loved it.
Career mode still wouldn’t load, but I managed to get my first free flight
