It’s less than 50% of what is happening in real time.
What are the reasons of that and how can it be fixed?
Do you have the Sim Update 10 beta installed?
it’s because no single source has all the data. For planes to show up in MSFS, it’ll need an origin, destination, valid route etc etc. Planes with incomplete data get filtered out.
You’ll never see Live Traffic in real time. Kind of a safety issue.
Why not? I can see live traffic in real time on FlightRadar24. What makes seeing it in MSFS a safety issue while seeing it on FlightRadar24 (or similar websites) is not?
Yes I have, but still traffic in live mode is far too less!
I am in your opinion, how could this ever be a reason?
No, you are seeing flights that are at least 10 minutes in the past.
You’ll never get live radar of any planes, sorry but that’s how it is.
Sorry but you are wrong. It used to be that way when they first started, but it is in real time now for at least a decade. I see a contrail, I look it up on my app, the app tells me where it’s coming from and going to. Aircraft that are lower down are likewise real time. I can sit at my desk at work and tell my co-workers to expect to see a shadow sweep over our parking lot in a few seconds, and sure enough it happens right on queue. I can also correlate the aircraft radar trails that I see on the radars that I develop software for with aircraft on FlightRadar24. It’s all real time. There is no security risk.
No, it is not real time. There is a delay.
What part of my post above did you not understand?
Yep, on Flightradar24 its more or less real time. There’s no reason this couldn’t be the case in the sim. Maybe because it’s hard to simulate the aircraft trajectory in real time?
I understood everything you wrote. You are simply wrong is all.
That’s not very kind of you.
The fact remains, there is a delay.
Of course they are, but most probably not in the sense you think. For most planes, the delay is just because it takes time to display the plane on the map, delay is hence something around seconds. In contrast, if the datasource was from FAA, the delay was bigger (like 5 mins), but to my knowledge, this is no longer the case, at least I see no longer orange planes over the US.
My guess is that you read somewhere about this 5 min delay and now you think you are informed and insist on this piece of knowledge.
So, technically you both are right: the datasource of 99% of the planes on flightradar24 is real time without delay, but as it takes some seconds to display everything on the map, there is a very slight delay of some seconds. That is all…
There is no meaningful delay. What you see in the sky is what you see on “FlightRadar24” give or take a few seconds.
I see them a couple minutes after FlightRadar24, sure they are not bang on Live but they’re not 10 minutes delayed either.
That’s not my experience. Flightradar24 for example is not delayed at all. I always check the flight and plane spotters live videos on YouTube it’s all in sink. I also go to LAX often to planespot while eating in n out burgers and check Flightradar24. All flights are on point no delays. Planes flying over any area wether my home, highways, streets while I’m on the road etc. I open the flightradar app and everything is perfectly on time. Absolutely no delay whatsoever.
Sorry folks, unless you are an actual ATC, you are not seeing live traffic in real time.
Can’t make that much more clearer for you.
Good Day!
Not sure why it’s so hard for you to understand what we mean. If you look at the sky and see a plane you can see it on Flightradar24 at almost the same position with a minor delay. In MSFS the delay is massive.
