LSGC had some pretty significant weather yesterday with gusts up to 50 knots.

That’s not something I’d fly a vision jet (or much else) in, even if it was down the runway.
It’s important to note the designated mission time as that’s the weather it will pull. The last time I checked (it’s been a while), the time slider doesn’t change the weather, just what’s displayed on the various maps, so the objective is to set it to the same time as the mission so the in-sim maps will show you what you’re going to get. Or use real-world resources to look at what the weather is/was at the designated mission time.

No, I’m speechless, it’s rubbish. Why does the game even offer small airports that are unsuitable for Superjets, especially in such terrible weather? So, what happens is that VIP transport missions are mostly available in Europe, but flying there is currently impossible. While long runways where you can land a plane would be fine, the options are terrible local airports with extremely short runways, where even after landing, it’s simply impossible to brake. To overcome the wind, you need to maintain high speed, but then you won’t have enough runway length. If you approach a runway at the recommended speed, the plane will simply crash. Can’t the developers, after a year, manually add airports that are suitable for all conditions? You can’t rely on the in-game forecast because the forecast at LFHU is favorable, but I just couldn’t take off there again. The wind was terrible on approach, and the plane was flying sideways. I even landed the VJ G2 in the middle of the runway with flaps down, as there was simply no other way to land, but I ran out of runway and overran the runway and crashed. Of course, I could have landed at an alternate airport, but the mission would have failed.
Try putting the map layer in advanced>wind>ground. I’ve found that to be more accurate than what the airport info box on the selection map shows. But a big problem is that the map and/or those info boxes don’t always update/refresh when you move the slider. This is a persistent bug and I don’t know if it’s really been called out in a bug report in an actionable way. The entire map needs an overhaul.
Something that’s more verifiable is using the EFB and selecting the airport(s) and pulling up their METARs. The EFB will show you the most recent observation for whatever time is selected by the slider and it’s verifiable because it has a timestamp. It’s either the right time or it’s not.
As far as the airports, that’s a little off-topic for this thread, but you’re not wrong. We’ve gone over that in a lot of other threads.
I don’t use career mode because it’s so stodgy and incomplete. It’s an early alpha of a good idea that seems as if it was rushed into production with very little testing or feedback from people in the industry.
