Why use multiple window for outside view

Hello fellow simmers
I have been doing some jibi jaba on my sim just to kill some time this weekend while not had enough
To do some serious flying and it brought me up to the point of doing some experiment with multiple window settings and even some more.

There is a lot of complains about this topic multiple window and as far as i see all setup to outside view. I even did this myself while flying mostly c172 classic.
Using sometimes a beamer 4k one 1 of my pc’s and sometimes 5 monitors on my other pc

While i use monitored pc 5 screens i have 4 screens in surround mode same brand and specs 19 inch
Give me one outside looking screen and a 22 inch same brand on top to see as much of the enviroment as possible specially in banking the plane, and with trackir superb i can say.

But back on topic i started to read and see complaining about popout panels
And i started to create some multiple windows and cut the cockpit segments and assign them across screens.
But most intresting i find al instrument on all screens i can control by mouse and they are fully functional with no real framerate loss.

Also hooked up my daughters old laptop designed for window version 8.1 but running on windows 10
And starting to use the windows tool project on this pc

, which gave me the use of a 6th monitor with this i see some loss of frame but not so much depnding on weather setting specially foggy conditions.
But that is logical because from project from one pc onto another laptop and ageing and wireless connective type it still flies pretty smooth

I see real possible setup for home cockpit builders/ multiple monitor users as well as desktop
Pilots to use extensive enhancement of their experience
If uploaded a video with no sound to my youtube channel

Have fun
And getting lost is best way of sightseeing

OK. How is this done. I like the idea.

Which part do you want to know?
The part of multiwindow
Or
Projecting view to the laptop to create an extra monitor available

@LTMcComb

To connect a laptopscreen to you desktop pc
There are possibility it will not work for it will need miracast stuff
Also it needs wifi so if you use already find another solution in order of , but since new mobo support multi lan and extra wifi it will be allright otherwise get msfs on lan to set wifi connection free to use projection for wireless monitor. Or you can buy an usb wifi stick as extra connection.
When this is available on the system then you need to install some software from windows extra optional parts see this screen and scroll down to wireless monitor.

(Mine is already added)
Once it is installed restart the computer or laptop
Now the harder part is to configure and connect them and since it use 2 protocols one receiving and main pc sending.

For the laptop

Click this in the next photo

Once clicked it sets up this view

For the desktop.

Brings up this and select to where you want to connect to

Click to connect
Then this happens on the laptop

and they are connected

Now you can start msfs on the desktop pc and start adding multi window in the experimental interface, these you can drag to the laptop screen. Than you can modify to what you want to see in this window, but be aware if you look arround for it will follow the view so trail and error will get you there.

I thought you could only add two other windows. Now I know better I’ll try this later today. Had to do a little translation but got it. I have a 10GIg lab setup in my house and show so this part was easy. I was using Spacedesk before. Thanks

Youre welcome
I hope you like, i think this can be allright because al stays in render limmit because it is the same
One program. My laptop is old and run 2.4 ghz but follow well, unfortunatly i tried an extra monitor on the hdmi port of the laptop but when making connection thru screen projection.
But im wondering what if i use nvidia surround setup on a second pc.
I will experiment further this weekend.
And also possible i think a widescreen beamer with wifi i like the idea it will be fun anyway trying

While this feature projector works fine specially with 5ghz wifi and attached hd beamer to the laptop.
Ii have experienced two crashes last night which i had no problem with personally because these things can happen when experimenting and the reasons where logical imo.
First had to do when flying this way and had also opentrack started, it worked and was a pleasure to use but i had not created a separate profile with/for slower input while moving my head.
Although i worked for a while with no problem later on my graphicscard decided to much input and not like so it gave me the message that it encounters problem and the sim would end/stop
The second time was when flying above New Zealands Christchurch without opentrack, i flew there somewhat hours above the city enjoying the scenery while due weather update on live weather my graphicscard decided it was time to quit and showed the message again
The reason i know these where the features that where responsible for the crashes, i could track them down from event logs
Also i dont think it is a msfs problem, but more a graphicscard issue or flaw.
Further more im very happy and is very inspiring to do it leaves me with lots more ideas and devellope to progress

For now im thinking for a second copy of msfs or second xbox account family options
And run on a second pc,
The idea is to setup beamer for outside view with this pc i will disable interior an exterior from the planes model cfg and also i will setup trackir opentrack.

On the second pc i select the plane and set it up with only instruments so the load will be devided

First pc will have 3090 second pc will have 3060ti so enough power there

To connect the two pc i will use firstly a demo mode version of luciano’s wideview and fsuipc.

Shared cockpit works to for this purpose if anyone wants to know

Hello, i have tried this, but every time i try and move the 2nd monitor’s view it defaults of the first screens screen, i cant seem to independently change the views. I see you were able to get the instruments zoomed in on the 2nd window. How did you do that? Thanks
