Wind information for airports w/o ATIS

Problem:

It’s currently difficult to determine wind direction for airports without neither ATIS nor windsocks. Many of the smaller airports and airfields I’ve visited in the sim (clearly not hand-crafted) seem to lack windsocks, despite them being there IRL.

For the wishlist:

• An “assistance toggle” on/off option adding windsocks to all airfields whether they have windsocks IRL or not (workaround for the missing ones).

Optionally, an ATC option to “request weather information” or “airport advisory” from airports with a designated radio frequency but no ATIS would be a great addition.

Current work-arounds

• Use “live weather” and rely on external real weather information. (Though this breaks VR immersion.)
• Only fly from/to airports with windsocks or ATIS.

Rising smoke from industrial buildings, stacks and power plants

In real life rising smoke is a great indicator for determining wind direction in flight. I wish there was smoke coming out of stacks from some industrial buildings and power plants (who produce smoke almost all the time) and under certain conditions also from non commercial buildings because of heating systems in winter. Ideally effects vary with weather conditions. So on cold days more buildings produce this effect, whereas on warmer days only the industrial buildings would.
