With high fidelity aircraft now available in abundance…How has your hangar taken shape recently?

What are your new additions, old favorites, most hours?

Do you keep a small hangar, or a larger one?

My Current Hangar:
-A2A Comanche
-Asobo Longitude
-Blackbird 310
-SWS Kodiak
-FXF Vision Jet
-BSQ Bonanza

Currently all in with the Comanche and Longitude. My most hours would probably be in the 310 or Kodiak.

The Just Flight Arrows were great for a long time, but have since been retired from service for me.

Potentially a very interesting thread I think :+1:

After nearly 3 years siming in FS20 I have built up a fairly large collection of AC which I have regularly trimmed down to those I am still interested in. Personally, I see no point in having a large hangar containing AC which I will never use again.

It’s been quite a journey from the early days when the devs took quite a bit of time to come up with really high fidelity AC. I think the first one which challenged me was the PMDG DC6 which unfortunately I no longer use.

There have since been quite a few good AC but the ones still in my hangar and which I still fly are the:

  • BS King Air
  • BS Baron
  • BS Bonanza
  • Cessna 414
  • Cessna 310
  • PMDG 737

I have to say though that the one at the top of my list is the A2A Comanche and I think this AC will probably still be at the top of my list until A2A come out with a new AC. Happy to be proved wrong though :slightly_smiling_face:

My Carenado and Aerosoft aircraft have basically been mothballed. What I fly the most now is

PMDG Boeing 737-700/BBJ
FlySimWare Cessna 414AW
Asobo/WorkingTitle Cessna CJ4
JustFlight Piper PA-28
WB-Sim Cessna 172SP

I really like twins, so Im holding out on buying A2A until they release a, preferably turbo, piston twin. Hopefully the have enough research and data from the Piper Aerostar to do this now that their first product is completely done.

Oh yeah. I completely forgot about the Carenado Mooney I used to fly a lot. It was good fun for a while in the early days of the sim. It’s been well over 2 years since I’ve flown it now.

When the sim was originally released there was a glorious lack of steam gauge GA aircraft. The Mooney was nice at the time. But since then there are far better aircraft in that category for similar or more expensive prices.

I recently bought the Optica.

Visibility is amazing just the job for sightseeing flights, flight dynamics are pretty good so the rating is spot on.

BTW
I do not look at aircraft in the Market Place with a rating of less than 4.1.

My aircraft model addons are mostly GA. There are a couple that I picked up just to support a fav author but almost never get flown. The Tecnam is my latest acquisition and all I’ve flown since getting it.

I also have a few in my Official folder from the Marketplace, like the Cirrus S50 and Honda from FFX.

I keep a large hanger for model matching, but only typically fly:

PMDG 737’s (-600,-700,-800);
FENIX A320;
A2A PA24 Comanche (my new favourite);
Just Flight Fokker F28;
Just Flight Pipers (warrior, arrow, & Turbo arrow);
Flying Iron Spitfire;
Flying Iron F6F Hellcat;
Blackbird C310;
Blackbird FG-1D Corsair; and last but certainly not least…
FlySimWhere Cessna C414.

If I had to pick only one I don’t think I could, these are what i fly the most…

For me it’s those last three, although it’s really five since I bought all three of the JF Arrows.

Yeah, feeling spoiled on Xbox lately. It’s been:

PMDG 737-800
Just Flight Piper Turbo Arrow III/IV
Cowan H125
Flysimware Cessna 414AW Chancellor
Milviz C310R
Carenado 182RG
PMDG DC-6
GotFriends Wilga
GotFriends Double Ender

I have bigtime decision paralysis every time I get to fly. There’s worse problems out there I suppose.

I’ve really been into the four Blacksquare Analog models lately: Bonanza, Baron, Caravan, and King Air. I’m doing a Tour of Alaska (below) using VOR/ADF/Visual, and I’m using a random number generator to pick which plane per leg.

Alaska Tour - 2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS

Right now it’s

A2A Comanche
Carenedo Bonanza V35B
Black Square Bonanza
WB-Sim Cessna 172

I bought a few others but I don’t fly them because they just don’t measure up.
I’m starting to enjoy trying to fly the more realistic birds and all the challenges that entails

I’m not a pilot and in fact wasn’t a simmer until MSFS202 so it’s a whole new learning curve for me.

Great good fun.

There is a fatal flaw in the rating system. Maybe I’m wrong, but, only purchase can (should) be able to rate it. There are many people who read reviews, like you, and don’t purchase it. If their ratings were included for bad aircraft, then the ratings would be even lower.

Not to mention the whole rating system is messed up because you can’t comment on your rating.

All this makes the rating system mostly useless.

I keep a small hangar which only has the following aircraft:

  • FlyByWire A32NX (1000 hours)
  • Headwind A339X (500 hours)
  • IndiaFoxtEcho F-35 Lightning II (50 hours)

The rest I don’t have installed, and the ones remaining are the default Cessna 172 and TBM that are mandatory and cannot be removed, so I just leave it there. and also the Cessna Citation and another aircraft that’s needed for FSLTL model to work but I never fly them.

So that’s it… lol

I keep a pretty big hanger

JF Piper Arrow III
JF BAe-146
Carenado Seneca
Milviz 310R
Milviz Corsair
FL Spitfire
PMDG 737-700
PMDG DC-6
NEXTGEN E110
FSW 414
SWS Kodiak 100

Oh man I forgot about the Seneca also. I used to fly her quite a bit. I think once the 310R came out, I stopped.

I am throughly enjoying all the aircraf in the MSFS… There are so many types and varieties of items.
BUT… I have not purchased a single item from the marketplace, thus, my community folder is clean.
I decided to wait until the sim has most of the glaring, annoying bugs and kinks corrected.
I did not think it woud take so long… WOW … I am still waiting. Glad I didn’t hold my breath !

You know you can buy Payware off other sites right? The bugs are mostly fixed

Marketplace purchases go into the Official folder anyway. But why not try out some of the free offerings? There are free mods for the DA40 and DA62 that put performance within a few points of ever page of the POH, plus some perfectly good original planes. There are also tons of free airports that are miles better than the stock versions and cost only a little bit of download time.

Thanks for the reminder - there’s an update for that one that came out (I think) yesterday!
