Yesterday, the new qorld update 18 released. But wanted to ask, if you think the new world update is better. I want to buy those airports but I am just not shure. I saw that the RDPreset LOWS has a better interior.
i have the simwings /aerosoft EDDM and its very nice, also with VSDG displays.
what i read the new default EDDM is not so nice. i stay with simwings eddm.

I stuck with both of the payware options, the only one I’m not sure about is Bern, the OrbX one isn’t bad, but I haven’t found a comparison of them yet.
I saw a few videdos about it, and i am nit sure, because it has not such nice textures.
how do you remove or overwrite the bad gaya eddm scenery?
Click on the package list view of the world update in the content manager and it will show you all content in the WU. You can then scroll to find Gaya EDDM and delete it. (assuming you are on PC as I’m not sure this works on XBox yet).
I believe you can also do the saem before installing a WU, so preemptively remove airports you don’t want before install them.
Re Salzburg, there’s also a version by Digital Design, though that package’s city might conflict with the new WU city.

Being originally from Salzburg, I have uninstalled the MSFS version of LOWS in the Content Manager, and kept Digital Design’s LOWS.
Seems the best way for me.

How can I use RDPreset verison of lows with the new wu?
I uninstalled Asobo’s version of LOWS within 2 minutes. After loading in the first time it was clear it was far inferior to the version by digital designs. I went back to that one immediately.

If you just want the RDPreset verison of LOWS, you can remove the LOWS Salzburg Airport that comes with WU18 from within Content Manager:
Does DD’s LOWS not conflict with the new WU18, since both include Salzburg city?
The city looks ok to me, there are a couple of landmarks further out, eg a church, I noticed that seem doubled up. But I’d rather have that and keep the better airport personally. Asobo didn’t even bother to include the iconic DC3! Very disappointing. As a regular user of LOWS I think Digital Designs is so much better.

Not really. Just make sure you delete LOWS airport by MSFS in the Content Manager. There are double radio towers on top of the Gaisberg and double towers at the Fernheizwerk (central heating station).
However I feel that the old city is much better modeled by DD than the PG mush at close distance. Especially when you explore the city by helicopter.
Just try it out. If you don’t like it, you can always revert back.

I use the DD a long time now, I got the RD Preset cause of Hangar7 which is really great, but I prefer DD and always wished, I could combine Hangar 7 and DD. After the update I tested all variants and I had the hope that RD plus Asobo photogrammetry is the winning team, but what a mess. I can’t use RD anymore, because I get a very bad fps drop in VR when looking directly at the airport, which was no problem before WU. When I turn off VR it seems to be ok.
But when I compare DD to Asobo photogrammetry in looow level VFR DD is the winner. Many Asobo buildings look nuclear bombed and melted. I visit my special places and some of them are better by Asobo:
Getreidegasse by DD is too narrow, both Pferdeschwemmen better by DD ( but missing 3D at Hofstallschwemme, wall only), I like the part north of Salzach around Mirabell more by Asobo.
Both are missing the statue of WA , Asobo brings only a nuclear melted base there, DD has only a tree there at Mozartplatz.
Some DD bridges are off and are hovering over the street level. DD Tomaselli balcony missing…many small things airliners don’t have to care about…
But all in all the DD buildings are nicer and not melted so I stay with DD for the moment and hope for some updates, as it is very old now.

Hows the city then, cause I heard, that the city lokks worse when uninstalling the LOWS scenery by Asobo
I compared both and like more the DD. The city integrates well with the new PG. You can see a bit on final were the old low res satellite assets meet the new one, because the gras has a different color.
Night lighting is so much better in DD, especially the GA area. Also I like more the ground textures and the metallic shine on the tower.
On XSX the performance of DD is better.
I will stay with DD, but I hope they update to the better satellite textures from the WU.
Small point for people that keep mentioning the missing DC-3 - it’s definitely there for me in the Asobo/Gaya version (have double checked before posting that I don’t have the DD version installed)
I wanted to include a screenshot as proof, but forum says it’s too big 
So I wonder what’s going on for them?
Edit: to add to that, I have since re-installed the DD version, because I just can’t deal with the totally borked parking/stands/gate situation in the Gaya version. I like working AI traffic please!
