Putting in a request for a update to focus on

The state of Illinois, US. This will cover and expand the photogrammetry for the full state, or at least key metro areas. Chicago region thru Aurora west. Bloomington, Peoria, Springfield (Abe Lincoln sites), Urbana, Galena.

Or the above + the Midwest. Key points in Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin,

Or city update Chicago. Expand and update photogrammetry to go west of Ohare out to Dupage Airport. Update Chicago items, yes there’s Drzweicki, which I have and is nice.

Personal interest as I’m in the Chicago region and west of ohare is lacking in realism.

And with many Chicago area airports currently available, having updated imagery and photogrammetry will immensely add to the realism by expanding the geographic coverage radius much further. Like they just did with London.

Hello - I’ve posted this wish in msfs 2020. But now that 2024 is out and I can confirm my wish wasn’t realized, I’d like to submit it again to go back in the queue for 2024.

Please expand photogrammetry to go west of KORD. There is an abrupt stop just past some runways on the west side. This is my home region and the realism would be very much increased to have photographic textures of the real buildings vs autogenerated ones. Please expand it about 20 miles west of ohare

I would also love to see the western suburbs of Chicago with photogrammetry. Photogrammetry also cuts off pretty quickly on the south side of Chicago. Ideally, it would cover down south through Gary and out west through Aurora.

Agreed That would be good coverage.

North to Hoffman estates. South to Gary. West to Aurora, Geneva etc along the fox river.

At the very least we need Schaumburg. The approaches from the west of ORD are so dull compared to the east. I feel like when planning these areas, care should be given to at least include a decent amount of area surrounding the major airport of said city.

For sure. I’m glad there’s Schaumburg regional and dupage regional on the marketplace. But yes we definitely do.

Flying over St. Louis area. Another favorite of mine. And while I really like that photogrammetry there expands way past the city and river to the west into st Charles and onward. I have to wonder why Chicago doesn’t get that same treatment? It’s such a better immersion for realism than autogen. Especially for favorite and hometown places.

i would also add that, to the south of chicago, where the pg ends, we have some of the worst aerials of the entire sim,
they were bad in 2020 and now they are worse
flying there is a bit depressing

Absolutely. And they are not even all updated aerials to be from 2023.

I don’t want to detract, as I made a separate post, but I just came across another proof of evidence around St. Louis by Lambert still not showing redevelopment of a mall.
