X570 Aorus Master

I was wondering since I have built a pc last year with X570 Aorus Master with Amd Ryzen 5 3600, without changing these 2 components what gpu would be recommended to run msfs2020 with better graphics? I understand it can never reach the ultra settings, but is high settings gonna be possible?

I have same MB with 3900x and 2080ti. I can run ultra with a couple of tweaks and avoiding dense areas and complex weather at 3440x1440.

All depends on your budget and what resolution you useā€¦

My PC configuration
Mother Board Asus X570F WiFi
Ryzen 7 3700
GPU Asus RTX2070Super 1440p
32 Gb DDR4 Corsair
All parameter are high some ultra

Hi,

My PC configuration :

NZXT H510i
NZXT Kraken X63
Tuf Gaming X570-Plus
Ryzen 7 3700X
Gigabyte RTX2070 Super windforce OC 3X 8G (+ OC 125mhz/800mhz with Msi Afterburner)
32 Gb DDR4 G-Skill Trident Z LED
Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ (2560x1440)

My settings are a mix of high and ultra (I followed the advice found on this forum),

A special thank you to TheOriginalBabu and CptLucky8.

I fly exclusively with Propellers / Twin-Props category (I do not use the airliner) in small regional airfields like those of ORBX or in Freeware with flights of 1 or 2 hours and I have a lot of fun .

So you will not be disappointed with a 3070 with its very interesting price

See you

Iā€™d recommend the RTX 3070. Itā€™s the cheapest ā€œnewā€ card right now, and itā€™s a great pairing with a 3600.

You could also go for the RX 6800 after the reviews come out, but thatā€™s more expensive.

Iā€™d say get the 3070 since you have a 3600, you shouldnā€™t have too much of a bottleneck.

For comparison, this is my system:

R7 3700X
B550 Tomahawk
32GB Trident Z RGB
RTX 3080 FE.

I run at 1440p max settings with render scaling set to 150, I get an average of 45-60 FPS whenever the CPU isnā€™t a bottleneck (which asobo is addressing)

Iā€™d wait for the RX6700XT or spend the money for a 6800/6800XT or RTX3080, 12GB/16GB VRAM will really help in the long run when more and more addons are released. What GPU are you currently on?

10gb should be fine too, the 3080 is enough I think lol.

:joy: Iā€™m currently on my old msi r9 280x 3gb. Got it a good 7-8yrs ago I think? Decided to do upgrades last year and got the x570 aorus master and the ryzen 5 3600ā€¦ But went short on budget so I stopped thereā€‹

I canā€™t seem to find 3080 pricing online, I read that I cost 699 and up, but hmmm

Got my 3080 FE for $699, so yes 699 is the cheapest it gets rn

Iā€™d get a 3070 FE with 3600 though!

I have a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite with a Ryzen 5 3600 and I use a Gigabyte Aorus 5700XT GPU. The system seems very ā€œbalancedā€ - when in Dev Mode it usually ā€œflickersā€ between Main Thread and GPU limitation.

Well, how long have you got? Haha.

I will be brief [sigh of relief from the gallery, there].

Firstly, there is a lot of good, sound advice to had upon these forums. And the time taken now to do a
judicious search or two will, I imagine, yield all you need to know to help you make the right choice.

So that being said, what then is there left for me to say?
Well when building or upgrading machines, there are two possible philosophies to follow.

iā€™] I am gonna get me the best piece of kit I can lay my hands on and to hell with the cost.

Or ii] I am going to take a synergistic approach and buy kit based on the capabilities of the other components in the system.

Of the former: Whilst we can see that [in your case] your new ā€˜state of the artā€™ GPU will never bottle neck your system, the chances are that it will also never operate at itā€™s full potential either.

And of the latter: Well now we have a GPU that should ā€˜sit wellā€™ within the system and perform somewhere near itā€™s optimal. And it hasnā€™t broken the bank or indeed the marriage!

Right then! thatā€™s that then! I hear you cry. well, not quite.
Sadly, life is never as simple as perhaps our, thus far, cosy ruminations would have us believe.
The one factor I have not yet mentioned is the notion of future proofing.
And here we need to raise our collective eyes from the now, drooled upon, sales brochure and instead set our sights on the future to try to second guess what [if anything] is coming down the pipeline that might usefully be considered in the here and now.
And, for me, Asobo with itā€™s hints at CPU thread optimisation, can mean only one thing, DX12.
And DX12, even well implemented, suggests the need for VRAM - and lots of it!

So, there you have it! Having just lobbed in the hand grenade of DX12, I must confess, choosing the right GPU right now is at best, difficult.

Good luck.

Youā€™re missing a VERY big part of the puzzle hereā€¦

What resolution do you want to run at?
If youā€™re going to run on 1080P or 1440P, you really donā€™t need any of the massively expensive new cards.

For reference, I run with a mix of High/Ultra settings on a R5 3600 (@4.2GHz) on a B450 motherboard, 16GB of RAM (@3200MHz) and a Radeon RX5700XT on 1440P. Thereā€™s no need for me to upgrade my GPU unless I would want to switch to 4K.

If youā€™re planning to go for 4K (now, or eventually), it would make sense to get something new. Donā€™t only look at GPU though, on your current motherboard you would be able to slot in the new Ryzen R5 5600(X) eventually, so youā€™ve already got a pretty ā– ā– ā– ā–  great upgrade path there.

GPU wise; right now, I only have one solid piece of advise: WAIT (at least for 2 or 3 weeks). Weā€™ve gotten the details on most of the new NVidia offerings, and had the new Radeon lineup announced.
Just wait on third party benchmarks for the new Radeon lineup, and youā€™ll be able to make a completely well informed choice.

Especially in your case, where you can upgrade to the Ryzen 5 5000 series, youā€™ll be able to make use of that Smart Access Memory option AMD offer if you run both the Ryzen 5000 series CPUā€™s and the Radeon 6000 series GPUā€™s, which might be the tie-breaker.

So just hold on for a few more weeks.

I have the same modules (ram) model as you. Are you running them at 3600mhz? If so, how did you do it?
I tried mine through the bios and my sim just keeps crashing.

Thanks mate! Well seems like Iā€™m gonna wait abit

By the way, whatā€™s the max temp your ryzen 5 3600 will reach? Mine is hitting 90 degrees celcius on medium settingsā€¦ I guess the stock cooler just doesnā€™t cut itā€¦ What cooler do you use for your cpu?

Iā€™m using a 120mm closed loop cooler, but to be fair, if your case has enough airflow, the stock cooler should be fine.

What helped my temps immensely was undervolting the CPU along with the overclock. I donā€™t know if I got a really good R5 3600, but itā€™s running on 4.2GHz all-core on 1.2V. That dropped the temps by a LOT.

I see, gotta check on the bios again

You also might want to remount the cooler, and use some new thermal paste, because 90 degrees C is not normal, especially since FS only uses around 30-40% of the CPU.

Nah, they are 3200 modules that donā€™t even run at 3200 stable, I have to drop them down to 3000.

if you have 3600 MHz modules, I would drop them to 3200 if it isnā€™t stable
