Xbox Controller - Sensitivity changes nothing

Hello,

I bought this controller for the sim, then the update came so couldnt change sensitivity, now today I tried changing it and it seems to change nothing at all, even at minus 100% on the axes the cessna still whips up or down with slightest movement.

Am I doing something wrong? apart from that all the controls are default like green is throttle yellow is brake etc.

I think the controller I bought may not be a geniune microsoft controller not sure as it was cheap and bought online like an ebay type place and in the game its called “XInput Gamepad”

Appreciate any help, the controller is basically useless with default sensitivity

I´m having the exact same issue. Waited for sensitivity controls to come back from the last patch. After they did, tried all types of different settings, all useless and the plane whips up and down at the touch of the controller. Only change I managed to make was dead zone at 100% blanking out any control input which at least showed that something was happening. Other than that, no changes at all. I also bought a cheapo generic XBox style controller which MSFS recognizes as “USB Gamepad” with an Xbox controller picture in the settings window.

This is a broad issue that needs to be fixed, regarding the Xbox controller and would urge those who are using the gamepad to feedback via Zendesk.

Some of the problems, all on modern flight mode:

  • The Y and X LS axis on the Xbox controller are far too sensitive, even after the sensitivity has been reduced and deadzone added. The curvature seems reasonable, but the experience does not match what has been set in the settings. For example, a prop aircraft will take off with an almost vertical pitch as authority seems to be lost on the controller. Attempting to flare on landing feels like the start of a touch-and-go. There’s simply no weight or finesse to the controls. It’s either 0 or 100 across the entire range.

  • Using trim with the controller is completely broken. It is a constant fight between the aircraft and user input for a reasonable level of flight. Often the trim will automatically set to something far too steep and will continually climb. This produces some weird oscillation as you attempt to counter. I would go as far as saying without an AP system, it is very difficult.

  • The lack of rudder sensitivity has been discussed and acknowledged and a fix is coming.

I’m using MS XBox Elite controller and this sound’s problem I had first with it, until I realized that I had to assign the axises (analog) for elevator and ailerons, instead of assigning them just up/down and left/right (digital).
I have now very pleasant control with my controller with -80 for sensitivity.
With rudder axis that cannot be made at the moment, but they say it’s been looked at.
Hope that this helps someone.
