Not sure if any of you have noticed this, but to me this problem seems to have gotten 10x worse in the past few weeks. Every single time I do a flight this CTD/black screen thing happens, as opposed to every few flights like it used to happen…
I also think WU have something to do with it. Nowadays most of Europe seems problematic. I haven’t had CTD or black screens much on my Series S but when flying over the Alps the other day (LSGG) I went on external view and the plane was stuttering like mad. I usually fly props on the Himalayas or in the US or Japan and have noticed no problems there…
When doing the Airbus 320 training on the Xbox X the Mdcu and other control systems are blank
I have a strange feeling that MS/Asobo is working the problem “under the hood” as I had 2 occasions lately when the displays came back on after a few minutes. 2…3 weeks ago this was never the case.

That also already happened to me 3 months ago. Not sure what’s going on there but i hope they can fix that before the end of the year, im a long haul guy and i don’t like being unable to do long flights lol

Just completed a 1 hour 45 minute flight from london to oslo and NO CTD OR BLACK AVIONICS but I turned live weather and live traffic OFF
This issue has to be due to something live weather and traffic related
I thought Asobo had determined it was some kind of out of memory condition? If so it could be attributed to any feature that consumes memory, and not just those two.

just happened to me. For context, I’m using Xbox cloud gaming as a platform. The only thing I can really say is I was in the middle of some turbulence (which was probably entirely a coincidence) and there was a quick lag spike, followed by all flight displays shutting off, almost as if hit by an emp. Kind of annoying, as I’ve already tried everything from restarting the engine to reopening the flight. Really hope this one gets fixed, especially as I am a long-haul guy, but considering that this post has been here since July of 2021, I’m not holding out hope.

This is ridiculous i cannot even fly from London to New York without the scrrens going black and looking at the post this as been going on for almost a year they need to sort it fast

I carnt even do atleast 2/3 hours of flying due to the screens going black litraly every flight i try to do about half way through it all the screens just go black please fix this of please help me fix it

Ok, so big update on this topic…
Yesterday, after I saved my flight after the emp hit (I also have a save from before the hit), I closed the game.
Today, I reopened it and loaded my save (post-emp). I noticed that the displays Appeared to be working, though I didn’t look too hard, as I immediately noticed other problems had taken their place. The audio for the whole game simply did not work, and several menus including the quick menu didn’t open. There were maybe other issues as well, but I just closed the game again and immediately reopened it. I know this isn’t exactly peak troubleshooting, but I have no idea what’s going on :/. I once again tried to load the same save, but this time, the map showed an entirely different flight that I had attempted earlier on (yes, this one encountered the display problem too). This also goes for every other .flt (flight) file that I tried to open - it was the same random flight. Now, I didn’t try it out to see if that flight was actually the one that I was put into. If I see this again I’ll try it out, but then again the game might surprise me with a new bug again. I have one .pln (plan) file, which I tried to load, and it was actually the plan that it was supposed to be. Anyways, I believe the problem may actually be some sort of corruption happening with the save/flight after some amount of time, but I can’t say for sure. Either way, It’s a huge problem. I hope I was able to provide people with a little more info on the problem, and I will continue checking it out. I will probably give more updates soon.

They called it a memory leak…
A memory leak is a catch-all term for a coding error.
With so many variables, and of course the old addage that correlation isn’t causation.
I’ll be amazed if they fix this bug anytime soon. At least they’re working.on it now. Or at least aware.

For those experiencing their avionics/screens going black, and CTDs, we would love for you to join in this Xbox Stability Test! This is one of the main memory bugs we are hoping to solve with the added telemetry of this build.

Excellent! Now is the time for all of us that are affected by this memory leak to start the process and to bring that valuable data so it can hopefully create a much bigger picture for the developers to analyze and fix . Here is your chance guys and gals to help gather the data and let’s get rid of this for once and for all .
