Look, you are unable to use this flight sim the proper way. You play it like a child would play GTA. This is the problem. The fault is not done by MFS it is you and your trolling friends fault because you can’t use it right. And now you are here and spreading nonsense about the sim. Learn how to use it or stop trolling.
Hope you are smarter now.
In view of the fact that the poster Grzmocislaw1706 wants readers of his post at this forum to watch the video about the interview of Austin, I would like to support his post by saying that I deem it necessary to point that the forum readers could IMO better inform themselves and get a more balance picture (before they adopt the opinion of the poster) if they watched the video direct at youtube before and again after they have also read all the comments to that video made by x-plane users.
No, they announced working on the Xavion weather engine for X-Plane 12, so no fiction at all. So did you take that into account when you make prognostics for the future of both sims? A fiction is that FSLabs could port their A320 because there was no announcement made yet.
Don’t get me wrong man I would love to see a new sim that’s ultra realistic and looks extreamly good with decent performance. Probably all of us would like to see that.
But the fact is xplane 12 is not officially announced, it will come for sure but I doubt it will be any time soon. Becous to top the graphics msfs has atm it will be a bit tricky.
Nonetheless I wish for bouth simulators to have a bright future, as of now I’m sticking more with msfs and learning slowly the SDK. Cheers and stay positive
To be fair, only XP Pro and P3D with separate proprietary flight dynamics fall into this category and even then, only with very specific FAA approved hardware. The version that most people here are using is not the pro version and the 60fps capability of X-Plane goes out the window as soon as you start adding your own stuff, orthos etc.
I just read a thread on another forum that a 787 simulator manufacturer is already looking into using MSFS for its visuals going forward (they had been using P3D). That simulator wasnt using P3D for flight dynamics anyway, just for visuals - so a switch to a superior package in that regard just makes sense.
in 6 months we would all be in awe with msfs20 especially with 3rd party addons. They’ve started to shell out their products then the momentum will get things rolling we probably can’t catch up, a good problem.
they finally acknowledged these issues yesterday, weather, AP, etc and are currently working on them. They will update the forum Monday morning and will post an announcement immediately regarding the issues I stated. Also I reached out to Meteoblue yesterday and they’ve been in communication with me as they are assisting us with helping resolve this issue via Microsoft ASAP. Dont give up
Can’t use it ‘right’? As a commercial multi-engine instrument rated CFII and retired military instructor pilot with almost 40 years flying experience, I think I know a thing or two about flying and simulation. Or perhaps I don’t. Why don’t you enlighten me as to the ‘proper’ way of using MSFS?
Oh i didn’t see that. Thats a good thing. Do you have a link to that statment?
If you would actually listen to the podcast you would hear Austin saying what he used to say from the very early days of xplane - ‘I did not create xplane to answer questions in way that would please people with saying what they want to hear, I in fact take great pleasure from talking to people what THEY DONT WANT TO HEAR’ - And by that he means truth, that is Austin and xplane in essence You love it or hate it, its that simple. I value honest people much more than forum trolls.
I agree that it would be difficult to “top” the close-to-the-ground graphics. Anyway i think they could top the graphics seen from above FL100 and offer a better performance because the Vulcan engine seems to be a be a bit more powerful than DX11. They stated that they will massively improve the weather engine and improve both the autogen and the flight model as well. MSFS still has some issues with the photogrammetry rendering and in such cities the normal autogen do look a better than with photogrammetry, except that the buildings don’t look exactly like they should. At the end i see some advantages for both sims. Just to say why i don’t think that XP will disappear any time soon. But there is no doubt that MSFS will most likely be the sim for the majority.
LOL Sure, and I am a rocket scientist and test pilot at NASA.
Well, then, with that experience, you’re surely qualified to demonstrate the ‘correct’ way to use MSFS for simulator training.
NASA? What a shame given spacex is here
Seriously - it would make no difference if you are CFI or random Joe (no offend to all Joes, put any name here) to use sim ‘correctly’. You either enjoy it or not. I’m rated in real aircraft and find MSFS flight model very good, but still not as fluid and accurate as A2A products or even default xp, in my humble opinion of course.
I had X plane 10 and 11. I bought a bunch of stuff while there. The flight mechanics and avionics are great. But I fly GA mostly and though it’s accurate in characteristics it’s boring as hell for scenery flying from A to B.
Intervention - Dispute Settlement
(please read carefully with humour)
Your Honour, the plaintiff and the defendant in this thread lawsuit have stated their opinions in a most detailed and even very repetitive way. We have heard, without being under oath, all persons who claim to be experts in their field or claim to be witnesses, gamers or want-to-be-pilots sitting at their home sims, just wanted to be heard because of their special wishes or alleged grievance. The purpose of this thread lawsuit hearing your Honour is, as as the court is well aware, to allow the plaintiff and the defendant to put forward their opinions (opinions only as clear evidence is lacking on both sides) and not to force opinions onto the other side or the jury. The plaintiff and the defendant have now agreed to rest their cases and jointly ask the court to instruct the jury to bring its verdict and instruct the jury as follow: in bringing its verdict, the jury must firstly primarily consider the interests of the intervening party (i.e. the interest of the intervening poster because of the huge number of MS shares she has held since 1985) and secondly, the interests of all other flight simmers, or not flight simmers, who are also MS shareholders despite the fact that they were not intervening parties to this lawsuit and consequently the interests of millions of potential buyers of MSFS around the world who are not, immediately demanding, want-to-be-pilots but simply want a flight sim game they can enjoy as quickly as possible, despite bugs or missing feature on release date - or for the purpose of paying for something that today on this planet cannot be called a flight sim .
In view of the fact that the Plaintiff has strongly and endlessly argued it has actually not incurred any loss, or suffered lack of features, in summation ‘nothing to worry about’ due to the defendants actions or failure to timely act, render service or deliver, an argument that was indeed vehemently confirmed by all the witnesses and expert called by the Plaintiff and not contested by the Defendant, and in view of the uncontested fact that the Plaintiff (a piece of software) did not see fit to appear before the court in person, and in view of uncontested the fact that the Defendants vicarious agents have publicly announced that they have monitored the forums of flight simmers forum to ascertain what those flight simmers want and publicly announced that MSFS will not just be a game but also a flight simulator, which implies warranted product qualities in terms of performance and features, the jury shall unanimously agree that this thread should be closed.
this is the best thread. never close it.
I agree. certainly not yet because of the time difference between Europe an America. A couple more ‘Dudes’ calling needed.
So funny the little xplers. They will maybe admit that it’s dead when they realize that no more addons will be released for their ancient software.
What are you even doing here? Nobody cares for xp
