I get this message when I start MSFS.
And when I set online functionality to on and press apply, everything is fine.
But after restart I get the same message and online functionality again is off.

Iâd try pressing âdeactivateâ and then turning online back âonâ after that. It looks like your data limit got set to zero somehow. Hope this works
, but Iâll look at it closer when I get in the sim.

Do you have capped or unlimited internet by your internet provider
Try this
Switch Data Limitation ON and put 2GB or so. Apply settings, leave MSFS.
Then, start MSFS again, go back to the settings and switch if OFF again. Apply settings.
Thanks Hanukkah.
It works until I set online functionality to âonâ. After restart MSFS I got the same message and online functionality is automatically set to âofâ.
Unlimited.
The only difference between ours settings that I can see is I have âmultiplayerâ turned on. It doesnât seem like that setting should affect your problem, but you might turn it on and then disregard the warning after restarting the sim and see what happens. Iâll keep looking.

I found the solution.
Changes can only be made with multiplayer âonâ.
Apply and save. Restart. Multiplayer âoffâ.
@ArcanePython931 @FawnPeak4988433 @Habu2u2 Thanks for the suggestions but no joy for me.
I tried a few different things like setting the limit to be low 5 GB and high 450 GB, but whether the limit option is off or on, or whether I click ok or deactivate at the data overuse prompt, I get the same warning. I tried 10 or so different variations of what was mentioned above so Iâm just reinstalling MSFS once again.
All this comes after removing and reinstalling my M.2 SSD (a recommended fix that didnât work for a BIOS problem I was having) and then getting a âplease insert discâ error for MSFS.
I wound up re-installing the game with the official folder on an external SSD but once I fixed the BIOS problem I reinstalled the official folder back on my internal SSD (re-downloaded 127 GB) and I started getting this data limit issue. I have no reason to set a data limit and I never set a data limit.
