Without knowing what servers MSFS is connected to, I wrote a small script that would query established connections, then just leave a persistent ping running for each one.
The hope was if someone who regularly gets this had this running in the background, when this got triggered there might have been a corresponding blip for the ping packets.
I don’t get this myself so it’s pointless me testing it, but if anyone wants to try it please be my guest. It’s a PowerShell script. What you would do is fire up the sim, start your flight, and when spawned in you would right-click on the script and select “Run with PoweShell”.
This should spawn multiple DOS windows, each one pinging an individual server. Don’t worry if you see any that are not responding, and you can close those ones down. It’s likely they are firewalled off to block echo replies. Now conduct your flight as normal. If you get the offline message pop-up, quickly Alt-Tab through the DOS windows to see if any of them were interrupted, and make a note of the IP address for future use. Each window will have a scroll bar, so you scroll back as far as you need to.
It’s equally possible you won’t see anything, but on the off chance that you do, and enough people reported the same IP, that might be valuable information for MS.
For those not upset about people being proactive, the code is below:
Photogrammetry was off for me all the time.
MSFS takes ages to start and then loads into the error that my bandwidth is too low and I have been switched offline. Turning Bin Data World Graphics ON (Photogrammetry still off) loads for a while and then shows the error again.
Impossible to fly today. Location is Frankfurt, Germany.
i hate it, on approach (5hours flight), i cant restart bing live data. I wait for loading to start 20min. Its very crazy. this is not acceptable in my opinion, a flight with problems of world data… sorry. my Internet Connection is 1000mbp/s (Pc RTX3060 + Intel I7)! All devices works fast
Hope this catastrophic big issue will fix very fast. Before march 2023 it was perfect without any problems !
I’ve the same issue with bandwith however my internet connection is perfectly fine. Never had this before.
Not having the best time with MS right now. Earlier this week gamepass got stuck on checking updates for a number of days (issue still occurs) and now MSFS doesn’t allow me to start up a flight. Hope there will be a fix asap.
It seems they don’t care.
Maybe I sound negative, but being dependent on there servers is going to be an issues in the future I am afraid.
I hope I am wrong about this
i bought my pc at january and since march i have the low bandwith issue. Cant understand it, for so a game, which is connection very important but many problems hahahha + i paid 120€ for premium edition which is not “premium” on the airports only the terminals are little bit better, the 787 has only a nice modelling, but cant fly it, because the functions is very standard
There are even people who bought products on the Marketplace and can’t download them at all because of this mess.
Obviously the money is gone, but the products won’t download. Not even speaking of actually flying due to the bing data issues…
