Your bandwidth is too low (February/March/April 2023)

Bummer…I was hoping that it was maybe…maybe…solved. Nope.
Netherlands after 6pm and after SU12 download still the issue Bandwidth.
Same story… Speedtest give me 357.44Mbps Download. (Ziggo provider and no problems with network). My issue started also after AAU1 update.
Must be the Servers from MSFS.
And Yes, it is now really busy with all the people who start downloading and flying

However one remark!
CptCanada, V1 simulation, Chewwy, 757Spy doesn’t have this issues during the online streaming sessions.
Maybe we (I) don’t see everything, so I could be wrong. And also this is no complaints to these quys.
But how is that possible? Is there a difference between the servers and/or connections for UK/US in relation to Europe?

Complaining now is even more moot since a new SU dropped and you know people called in sick to fly. So servers are maxed. I don’t have these issues either. 99% sure it’s ISP related. Would be even more helpful if people would post their internet carrier. I have yet to see someone do that. (AT&T).

…and this is exactly the kind of message that we would like to hear on this topic (and globally on this official MSFS forum) but it still arrives very late from the community management (msg #578) :weary:

Watched Captain Canada and indeed he never had the bandwidth issue.
Here in the Netherlands it is terrible.
For me this message started to appear after AAU1 update.

Todays flight 2 hours it happened 12 times.
Enabling Bing data takes for ever.
And when it’s enabled the bandwidth error pops up 1 second later etc etc.

Does everything stream from US (MS central servers probably near Seattle), or does MS stream from different regional servers?

Another thing I noticed when it happens.
There is a flat line in the task manager looking at the ethernet flightsim data.

So I think it’s not even a bandwidth issue but zero download speed for the Bing data.

Other applications do never have this flat line behavior.
Please investigate Microsoft.

Sim is unplayable at the moment

In the Netherlands it’s really bad. It’s pretty much unplayable. Re-enabling Bing world graphics takes ages to apply. My internet isn’t the problem. I have a stable gigabit connection, so my internet shouldn’t be the issue.

I’m going to try it again now with my VPN turned on.

I hope using a VPN can help us play the game again…
Keep us posted

can confirm, also in NL, had the message again. Playing on the SOUTH EAST ASIA server. Then in menu got to the NORTH EUROPE server and reloaded Bing. Took a few minutes, did not CTD and now pretty stable again.

So the annoying message still there, but no CTD when pushing online functions to ON again. That’s a small gain in SU12. If it stays that way

Well I still prefer not seeing the message.
Have turned Bing on 12 times in a 2 hours flight.
So for me this is not playable.

Using a VPN has worked for me, obviously, this can’t be a permanent solution. But for now, this seems like a good option for people with access to a VPN.

But I really hope that this issue gets resolved by Asobo/Mircosoft ASAP.

Honestly i would say so much now … but, i dont want to get banned again just for being honest.
Its becoming more and more worse; there is no day to enjoy msfs because when the game switching data offline from behind it doenst make sense to continue flying …

this is a heavy bug and not just something just get flagged as “community feedback” … feedback is something… nothing on which developers should take the most attention to.

Landed on VATSIM in EKCH, the message showed up again. While the message is displayed you have no control over the aircraft. The pedals stop working and you have no control over the thrust levers. So I ended up in the grass beside the taxiway. Very professional :grimacing:. The controller probably thought I had a beer to much. No more flying today. Time for a :beer_mug:!!

Just did a flight from LAX to SFO with 45 mins on the ground for boarding. With a VPN I didn’t get any errors about the connection/bandwidth at all.

VPN to?
USA or elsewhere?

It’s not ISP related. Everything else is running fine.
It’s an issue with MS content delivery servers. Downloading some packages in the content manager also was going until ~100MB and then the download stopped, the speed dropped slowly to zero and the download was started all over again. Rinse repeat.

It’s NOT the ISP, nor is it an issue with the user’s PCs or internet connection. It seems to be their geographical location that seemingly connects them to Azure (or other CDN) servers that are affected. Since this is intransparent to the users and we can’t change it unless we run a VPN that exits somewhere else, it’s up to MS to fix this.

By the way: Buying products from the Marketplace and not being able to download them is just the cherry on the cake.

Agree… happend when downloading the sdk update … almost 2/3 at good speed … then down to 0.

This morning I took a flight in Central Africa. No other plane around.
I was disconnected from online service after 10 minutes of flight.

I’ve tried multiple times to reconnect for my 2 hour flight but with no success whatsoever.

I had to fly with the horrible backdrop with no scenery streaming.

Tonight I had a group flight with 2 other friends on the same server (European West).
I got disconnected again 10 minutes after the start while the others had no problems.

I’ve tried 2 times to reconnect and the last attempt took over 15 minutes!!

And when I got back on my plane, all the scenery was gone!
I only had a blue area below me.
Looked like water.
But I was flying over 15,000 foot mountains in Bolivia near La Paz.

The disconnection situation has gotten VERY BAD since SU12!!!

Before that I rarely had problems.

Hopefully this will get better after everyone downloads the update because actually it is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!:fire:

It‘s not a question if they can provide more servers. The problem is that they don‘t want to at this moment. As long as it somewhat works they are not doing anything to address this. More servers cost money and it would not do anything for them in terms of revenue. Even if the majority of users have the connection issue on a regular basis, only a few of those users are walking away from the sim. But he or she will be back the next day to try again. It‘s the price we have to pay for having a subscription free and always online streaming game that attracts millions of players on multiple devices.
