Old list (April '22 ):
New list:
Tiger Moth by Antās Airplanes
Not really into that type of aircraft, but heard it was done great.
F6F-5 Hellcat by Flying Iron
Flying Iron has never disappointedā¦ This one is probably great too!
Pilatus Porter by Blackbird/MilViz (though Iām sure you have that already)
Have it and love it.
Discus 2c glider by Got Friends (premium one I suppose)
Never really played with gliders, itās something to investigate butā¦ I feel like itās like helicopters - so different from my usual GA and airlinersā¦ Too much info is not a good thing.
Ryan ST-A Special by A1R Bureau
Bought that on Day 1 and love it.
Globe Swift GC-1A by Aeroplane Heaven
My experience with AH has been mixed. I hated the way they have done business so far. Sour taste in my mouth.
Maybe the Black Square analog enhancements (Grand Caravan and King Air)
Sounds like a payware mod for a default plane. Not my tempo.
Cessna 172SP Classic enhancement by WB-Sim
Same as above?
Stream TL by LightSim
Donāt know what that isā¦
Sting S4 by FS Reborn
Donāt know what that is.
Gee Bee R3 Special (premium) by Got Friends
Did pre-release flights with it. Itās awesome, but not really my kind of aircraft nowadays.
Thank you! Gives me some ideas!
I want to add all of Bagoluās freeware 172 mods, especially the bush, amphibian and taildragger steam versions. Discover & Search - Flightsim.to
But feels like completely new planes. Youād be surprised. Steam gauges, avionics, buttons that work, flight model changes. They are in my Top 5 for a reason.
Haha, well youāre a cheap date
I really enjoy Gliders for a change of pace. They are not so different to GA you just need to think in a bit of a different way but they are so relaxing ā¦ right up until the point youāre going down down down and looking for a flat spot to land but thatās fun too when you know you canāt really crash and actually get hurt lol.
The premium Discus has a little electric motor prop that hides away, to get you out of trouble, or to launch with, or just to gain some altitude so it takes that stress away too if you want it to
To be honest there are some great free ones too (including one with a little jet that hides away which is fun!) and the free Discus is the same but without that motor and some other nice additions.
Winch launches or tow plane assisted launch is something unique too. I think that is the ākey wordāā¦ unique. Itās a unique experience within the sim and when Iām in the mood for that itās just so chilled and uplifting (pun kind of intended ). I think youād enjoy it anyway. Find your inner zen
Yes the 2 Black Square and WB-Sim alter the Asobo models but they are seriously well done and detailed.
Yea totally. I was just trying to think of stuff that has come out since Jeremy took a break. My sense of time is whack though
Both modern ultralights. Sting S4 has a lot of cool features (state saving / wear and tear on engine, brakes and tyres, maybe battery canāt remember / damageable gear on too hard landing with tyres that can actually burst / full EFB to monitor and manage all of that / emergency parachute lol) and a very nice flight model.
Stream is similar but hasnāt got those features, but I like it a lot as itās a tandem 2 seater layout so the visibility is tremendous out of the bubble canopy. Lovely and lively little thing.
Bought the L19 Bird Dog and Vision Jet today, weāll see if they can make my future lists in 2023. I did take the Bird Dog out for a spin and I did enjoy it quite a bit today. Havenāt flown the vision jet yet so we will see. Was hoping the Wilga would come to Xbox over xmas, haha oh well.
Close to study level sports ultralight. Glass cockpit and CSU with an auto prop feature. The parachute is fun though it is the sort of feature you do once and then not bother with again.
The S4 has state saving and lots of wear and tear features including tyres brakes and light bulbs.
I have flown a fixed pitch steam gauge variant and this one is pretty close. Only significant difference I have noticed is this one is harder to slow down than the real life Sting I flew, but that may be the auto prop doing that.
I have all 3, not enough of a difference to pass up on other great aircraft addons versus buying another 737-600 or -700. All those you mention are very good, I especially like the C414, itās #1 on the list for good reason. Donāt have the Wilga or 146 yet. I would wait and get the 747-400 when released instead of another 737.
I canāt speak for the King Air, but I do fly that Caravan. While it does use the base model, everything else is done to such a high standard, Iām not bothered with it. It is a study-level Caravan at a really good price, which Iām assuming they can do since they didnāt have to create the external model.
Here it is
Set up the XPC, went very smoothly (except for the hex bolts to attach the panels where you can only do about 20% of a turn at a timeā¦ grrrr). Feels really nice and smooth. Got to try and reassign the duplicate switches on the Logitech panel to something else next
Only done a couple of flights so far but you get so much more fine control than with the Logitech. Really pleased with it. The only downside is now I want to fly yoke planes which leaves my Wilga out in the cold (for a bit anywayā¦)!
Impressive! Also, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant is amazing for the price, their best product by far, when is your birthday? Lol!
Hahaha. I literally donāt think I have room for it. They are WIDE! There is only about 5cm extra space before the joystick hanging clamp holder thingy will get in the way ā¦and my trackball mouse is there with a gap for my arm. Itās tightly designed lol
My favorite piece of kit.
Hmmmā¦just make room for itā¦haha! Youāll enjoy flying airliners when you get that!
To be honest the Fulcrum is a better mid priced yoke and only about 1/3 dearer than the Honeycomb.
For the extra money you get 180 degree aileron and a full 8" pitch travel, all metal construction and a swappable yoke handle and get rid of all those useless switches and so forth that double up with your other flight gear.
Note it is not FFB though.
And itās about $500. Twice the price.
I am getting that new plane itch. And the Marketplave has a saleā¦
What do you think about the Bird Dog?
Stunningly good. You?
I bought it a week or two ago so it is still new to me and I fly it a lot. Might be my favorite old style navigation bush plane in the sim.
