If I may ⊠I am not trying to do a PC vs XBox sort of thing but ----
As an XBox using both S and X Iâve been only using the Marketplace. Most of your âobjectionsâ are not really problems in the XBox systems.
I do have a 1 gigabyte d/l stream so max speed is never an issue with me. My speed issues have always been located in some other place on the net.
Navigate, install, and update are three different things on XBox. IMHO very easy to get to the item or items needed. On XBox Marketplace and Content Manager two separate places.
Also not trying to âstart somethingâ here but honestly if youâve never been able to experience the alternative ways on PC then you donât really know what you are missing and how much more efficient and powerful it could be
As I said, the download speed is fine. Fast even (I also have 1gbit fibre down) â problems are what happens after that.
And one more thing - the lack of weapons on military stuff. And yeah I forgot to list the encryption problem but that isnât really much concern to me. There are ways around it and I rarely want to modify handling of planes in the CFG files (but they recently unlocked that I think?). Liveries all work from .to I believe. Main thing for me is being able to disable and enable things without having to actually delete and re-download it all (just wasting precious write cycles on the SSD!) - compounded by the fact that the deleting and installing takes an unfathomably long time where the UI is unresponsive.
Well the fact that they finally revised the silly ban on weapons and ordinance for marketplace versions of aircraft is a sign that MS can see reason and we might see further improvements (like receipts that name the actual item purchased) at some future point.
March is here so I need to update my list.
Time is plenty as March is the 2nd longest month in the year, only May is longer but we are not there yet.
Iâve written a few words about each plane in my previous rank so Iâll try to put a one-liner for each of my selections.
#1: Cessna Citation Longitude: Biz jet extraornarie. #2: Antonov An-225: Dreams canât be destroyed. #3: FBW Airbus A320NX: Fenix who? #4: Blacksquare The Analog King Air 350: A plane that flies like a plane. #5: FlightFX Vision Jet: Really nice little jet. #6: Flysimware C414: Your reliable twin. #7: JustFlight BAE 146: Where in hell is my Avro? #8: FS Reborn Sting S4: You can own a plane. #9: Blacksquare Velocity XL: A Kit plane that is a lot of fun. #10: Aerosoft CRJ Family: The regional jet that really works.
The An-2 will enter my list next month, it is a very special plane to me.
JustFlight WB-Sim 172SP (highly recommend the Boris Audio Works sound set)
The changes I made from February:
Removed Wilga (I find that one of the diagonal posts at the front cuts right in front of my line of sight and I hadnât noticed it before because I was always looking around; I love the way it flies, but I find the sight issues now to be too irritating now that I am more focused on landings with it)
Removed HJ420 (itâs a fantastic plane and one that is very well modeled at a systems level; however, I think itâs overall too small looking when viewing it externally, and like the Wilga, I finally got fed up with the poor visibility out of the cockpit - although this one is worse than the Wilga)
Added DC Designs F-14 back in (so fun to fly, so quick to get around, and I love shutting off the engines and trying to find a field to land at)
Added Black Square Analog King Air (I am really glad that I asked on here about it before buying it, as everyone said it was worth it; it most definitely is, and I am using it for most of my flights; I like glass cockpits, but I find analog cockpits to be so much more engrossing, alive and so so much easier to read)
Yes, I have flown it but in the current state of FM, avionics and sound it wouldnât top my list. Yet I really like reading different views I add a few points every time somebody mentions a plane like a good add-on or a fun one.
And thatâs how I ended up inside a flying flea and nowâŠ
