haha. Just don’t start also speaking Scottish… I mean Irish!
regarding the category idea that was brought up.
There’s more than 10 categories for me and also I dislike the idea in general.
But I went with it a bit for March.
FBW A32NX - my favourite airliner
SSW Gina - my favourite Miljet
Hondajet - my favourite Bizjet
Stearman - my favourite biplane
P38 - my favourite two engine warbird and generally my favourite two propeller plane
Spitfire (Flyin Iron) - my favourite one engine warbird
G36 Improvement - my favourite glass GA
Mooney - my favourite steam gauges GA
Milvit PC-6 - my favourite bushplane package, comes with glass and steam and floats
TL Stream Ultralight - my favourite ultralight with retracable gear and great view
I can think of at least 10 more categories in my hangar so the category thing makes no sense imo
Thanks for the list but you misunderstood about the categories. The idea isn’t that we must submit aircraft divided into categories. Nothing will change on how we give our personal Top 10’s so feel free to change that list if you want.
The categories will only be used to generate “mini-tables” of results per category — but that is just something that will be ADDITIONAL (alongside) the current monthly and all time tables.
Just for those wanting to easily see the top in a category they’re interested in without having to trawl through the whole PDF and to make “lesser categories” (i.e not airliners or small props!) a bit more visible in the update posts I make.
Either way, I am far from implementing any change at all.
So yeah, change your list if you want or leave this way - up to you
Thanks!
I knew my Mum has been hiding something from me all these years!
After the Black Square Bonanza release this is now one of my favourites. Definitely my favourite civil GA single piston plane.
Guinness + Happy Hour can do that
Keep hearing good things! Must resist. Come on Just Flight with your Arrow and Warrior! And A2A… gonna be another 2 years for that or what?
We all know you’ll be picking it up eventually, so why not get it and enjoy it now instead of only enjoying it two months from now
It’s not a prototype just a common AA332200.
It has dual APUs and is the only airliner that can suffer a double tail-strike.
It is more than good and the turbo normalised variant, once your up in the flight levels, is a bit of a mini rocket ship. Sustained cruise at a true air speed on the higher side of 200 knots is pretty obtainable.
Not cheap, but you get a complete new cockpit, a complete rework of the engine modelling and two new variants with tip tanks (one turbo normalised) which involve some minor reworking of the exterior model together with extensive wear and tear and failure options. As a bonus you get a 25% discount off the Baron when it comes out.
The Arrows were good but this thing is in another class altogether.
So next week apparently…
Bought this yesterday but spent longer trying to track down binding conflicts than flying it. It had a hotfix yesterday which helped, but I think it’s going to take a while for me to get it set up nicely with my peripherals.
That sounds good, actually.
Just curious… is the 430 / 530 updated GPS (via marketplace) working fine for you together with the 310R ? It just seem to not connect GPS and flighplan with Autopilot. ONLY if you do it early in flight, but lets say; changing from HDG to GPS navigation it’s not working. Nothing happens (nav swich correctly set etc).
A bit OT, but wanna know… =P
Sorry, Even though it’s in my list, I haven’t flown it in a while. I’ll try giving it a go sometime this week though…
My overhauled TOP 10:
- Black Square Beechcraft Bonanza A36 (from zero to hero)
- SWS Kodiak 100 (best Aircraft for bushflights)
- Just Flight Piper PA28
- JPL Cessna 152
- WB Sim 172 Cessna Skyhawk
- JBM VL-3 915 (with community Rotax mod; nice Aircraft for sightseeing)
- Milviz Cessna 310R
- Black Square Cessna Grand Caravan 208B
- Black Square King Air 350
- Aerosoft TwinOtter (could be in Top 5 but system depth should be optimized)
So far, happy landings!
Do you place the Bonanza at No 1 because its the newest (right?) or because it has something the other planes from same developer dont have? About to make a choice between their fleet of planes. =)
@Mosquito616801 will have his own reasons, but for me, when I bought the Black Square King Air, it instantly rose to the top of my list. I don’t order my list per se, but it is the plane I fly the most.
The cockpit is massively engrossing, alive and the plane itself is a joy to fly. They did an outstanding job and I’m sure the Bonanza is every bit as great. I much prefer the gauges to the glass cockpits for readibility and immersion reasons.
There are two reasons for this.
Firstly, I prefer smaller GA aircraft, and secondly, I have problems with the KingAir’s fps, which drops very sharply towards the end of the flight.
The system depth of the BSQ aircraft is impressive on all models.
I think we all suffer from newness bias, but the Bonanza is a great plane and Black Square’s analog cockpit and systems are top notch. It will be joining their 208 and King Air in my next Top 10.
You can’t go wrong with any of them, it’s really about plane type preference.
First update in quite awhile:
- PMDG 736 - overall best bang-for-buck and a joy to fly in VR.
- SWS Kodiak - tons of fun to be had in Papua, Indonesia imitating MAF flights or in PNG with the Ethnos 360 missionary livery.
- iniBuilds A310 - my favourite airliner and what a gift to have it for free. Next update should make it even better!
- PMDG DC6 - pure enjoyment from start to finish operating this beast.
- FSW C414 Chancellor - great features, IFR capable, and a cruising speed to get you where you need to go.
- DHC-4 Caribou - very good for the price and amazing STOL performance for a relatively large aircraft.
- iniBuilds AN-225 - best way to remember this legend is to fly it in MSFS. Lots of fun to be had.
- Milviz Corsair - you feel like you’re in the movie Devotion. Great fun to fly low level.
- DHC-2 Beaver - just a well-modeled classic.
- HPG H145 - so many features and always being updated.
