I try to support the store where I can, so no sound change for me and no Wilga update either….until it comes through the store.
Did get the Astro direct though, there’s another update there I think.
Oooh, just looked at my emails, GotFriends have been busy: updates to Optica, Discuss, Gee Bee along with the Astro One.
In all logic it should work. Please let me know.
-
PMDG 737 800 just picked it up

-
latin a321 my go to for medium long routes aircraft right now
-
BAE 146 It’s so much fun

Asobo TBM w enhancement: my other favorite GA
Aircraft I’m watching with great interest (some not out yet)
PMDG 737 600
Milviz 737 200
Milviz 737 300
The 737 -600 is available
Off topic but i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. Anytime there’s a new WU and it’s time to explore in VFR, i always come back to the C-172. Best views for VFR in my opinion, unbeaten in my book.
I set 3 custom cameras.
- One on the top of the dashboard for front “open” view.
- One of the pilot’s side window
- One on the co-pilot side window.

This Month
In thinking about this list and the addons I’ve acquired, I’ve realized something about myself and my preference in addons. I don’t treat MSFS as a game, but I’m also not a super serious simmer either. I tend to turn realism and damage options off, yet still try to stay within the limits of the plane I’m flying.
I don’t NEED all the buttons and switches to work, but it’s just really cool when they do all function. It’s like matchbox cars when I was a kid…I really liked the ones where you could actually open the doors even though I couldn’t actually get into the car.
For my simulator flying, the Carenado V35 Bonanza should be just fine for me, but the Black Square Bonanza just adds so much to it even if I don’t take full advantage of everything.
-
Black Square Bonanza A36 - At the top of my list since it came out. I’m planning to start a long trek across the USA soon and this is a candidate for that trip. Like having the option of a turbo or non-turbo.
-
Milviz 310R - Favorite twin engine. Great mod and a great twin. It feels more basic than the 414 Chancellor (see above). The other candidate for a long trip.
-
Just Flight Warrior - Back on the list. Love this little plane and glad to get it back up in the air after the update.
-
Cessna 152 (WBSim/JPL mod) - Still blown away by this free mod. Every so often I use this one to practice VOR navigation
-
Just Flight Arrow (Turbo) - Also back on the list after a long wait for an update. I was curious how this would compare to the Black Square Bonanza. The JF model doesn’t have a true full feature auto pilot. They’ve added click areas where there aren’t any buttons to add extra functionality, but it detracts from the design a little. The Bonanza is modeled a bit newer era plane. Also wish I had the option of flying the non-turbo version included.
-
Got Friends Wilga - Gave in to peer pressure and all the great reviews. It’s an odd plane, but easy and fun to fly. I’ve only done CTRL+E starts on this one so far as the startup procedure seems a bit more involved for this size plane. Will have to try and make one of the multiplayer trips at some point.
-
Aeroplane Heaven Cessna 140 - Classic design, simple to fly, nice view. Will probably always be on my list if for no other reason my uncle had one.
-
MS/Carenado Beechcraft Bonanza V35 - See my intro. Nice mod that suits my needs, but lacks some of the extras.
-
WBSim Cessna 172 - Great mod and great for really learning how to fly…now I just need to use it more.
-
DHC-2 Beaver - The last spot was down to this or the Carenado Cessna 170B. The Beaver wins because it’s unique. The 170 is too similar to the 140. I think this is the second best free mod.
Last Month:
This month (not ranked):
- SWS Zenith
- SWS Kodiak 100
- SWS RV-14 NEW
- FI Spitfire
- Milviz Corsair
- Ant’s Tiger Moth NEW
- JPL C152
- DC3
- BS Bonny A36
- BB BN-2 Islander NEW
Definitely a fan of SWS planes! Just wish they hadn’t put the Kodiak float variant behind a paywall for existing Kodiak owners.
I know I just got the atr and 737 800 so I’m not gonna buy anything else for a while
The airframe itself may be tiny but the engine is a massive radial (the “standard” engine is a 9 cylinder 620 cubic in (10 litre) radial) that uses an air starter. These big radials would probably have needed ground power to electric start reliably on the tiny batteries you could cram in the Wilga.
Please do come along! But why only one?
More of a race (laps) than a “trip” so far, but I got some A to B events (rally style) planned too. Next one might be this in fact, with many interesting landings on the way. Will post about it probably tomorrow
But it’s not expensive, really
If you ONLY bought that you’d be getting a great bargain.
It’s expensive just to add floats imo. Maybe they completely rewrote water handling and I’m being ignorant of the work that went into it, but from my POV it seems greedy.
My April list before it is too late:
- ATR 600 Series [Microsoft / S&H Software]
- BAe 146 [Just Flight]
- Britten Norman BN2A MkIII Trislander [BlackBox Simulation]
- de Havilland Tiger Moth [Ant’s Airplanes]
- DHC-6 Twin Otter [Aerosoft]
- Douglas DC-6 [PMDG]
- FG-1D Corsair [Blackbird Simulations / MilViz]
- Piper PA-28-161 Warrior II [Just Flight]
- Supermarine Spitfire L.F Mk IXc [Flying Iron Simulations]
- Tecnam P2006T [FlightSim Studio]
These are in alphabetical order. And what I have been flying mainly this month and what I see myself flying mostly until next month’s update. Points to note:
-
Love the new ATR, there are a few issues for sure but after getting familiar with the systems, I think it is amazing and talk about value for money! Great stuff. I see a thread on this with hundreds of (mainly PEBKAC) posts, claiming all sorts of bad tidings and being extremely rude and critical of the developer, it just makes me despair for humankind tbh.
-
Spitfire is still number 1 for me. Seconded by the BAe146.
-
Yes, the JF Warrior (I fly these irl) is back after a mega update (thank you Just Flight), although I still feel that it is a bit “shopping carty” on the ground.
-
The Black Square’s had to go, to make room for others that I have been flying more. I love the Black Square overhauls but I think they slightly lack character, which is fine and expected, they are superbly done. It is just when you put them up against things like the BAe and tbh most of the others on my list that have fully fledged pads and lived in feel etc.
-
I am praying for an update to the Corsair as I love this almost as much as the Spit. It still flies great but is slightly showing its (sim) age. I hear a rumour that it may happen.
Cheers all and blue skies.
Hello everyone,
I’ll try to make a list as well, it’s difficult to decide where to place them but I will do my best.
1: PMDG 737 800
2: CRJ 700
3: Black Square Bonanza A36
4: PMDG 737 600
5: MSFS Cessna 172
6: MSFS 747
7: ATR 72
8: MSFS grand caravan
9: Cessna CJ4
I’ll stick with 8 for now. Still difficult deciding what aircraft to get next.

Hi - thanks for your list.
Can only have one of those variants, unless you want to count one as your 9th in this case?
Shopping carts?! You are a true hero! (…or mad man)
EDIT: I found your vehicle!!
Or is it more like…
I think this could be the next project by @RaraAvisSims — I’d buy it!
Thanks for the update - the “NEW” things are pretty handy for me, or so I thought, but you missed one
…instead of Beaver
Lucky one of us has his head screwed on. Thanks to the morning coffee
Don’t tempt me…

Despite some logic changes to a few key behaviours in the latest 414 causing broken AAO coding, it remains my favourite.
Low and slow is getting lots of love due to the nicer UK weather, with VFR and general 152/172 (and sometimes even 103) favourable conditions.
ATR makes an appearance. No shock there.
Remains to be seen if it stays there at all, or moves up/down.
As ever, the order is for my own personal needs, and isn’t a factor in the published league table.
Come on, you know you want to… Although have to be careful, we might do an ATR thread (see explainer), on you if the taxi handing isn’t correctly shopping carty. Please also consider adding an EFB so that we can choose which wheel is broken. And also add suitable liveries for US and UK supermarkets.
ATR thread?
This is a new MSFS slang term. Where the phrase refers to greatly over the top complaining, whining and generally jumping on the bandwagon about something that is actually nowhere near as bad as some users would wish us to believe.
For example:
“The colour of the carpet is not blue enough”
“I haven’t bough this but I am going to say it is a disgraceful waste of money anyway”
"I am an expert in shopping trolleys and this one has only 46 steel bars where there should actually be 47.
And have you SEEN the weld line modelling??!! It must be only using 20,000 poly per weld! If that North Sea Oil Rig from Aerosoft can have a million poly, why can’t you lift your shopping trolley modelling to the same levels. DON’T BUY!!
