Used a laser machine to do it.
I knew that the displays are 6x8 inches and went from there to find the dimensions of the other panels.
Designed all in inkscape, then exported to CorelDRAW and then to DXF.
ok Iām back ā¦

ummmh, sort of depends when you are talking about ā¦ the original A10 project developed by Fairchild Republic is now incorporated into Northrop Grumman and has been since 1987.
In 1987, the A10 OEM team and all A-10 assets were acquired by Grumman Corporation from Fairchild Republic Company, and are now part of the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, presently partnered with Lockheed Martin Systems Integration as a member of the A-10 Prime Team.
Well, talking specifically about the Deimos one and what I should enter it as
Do you mean the 510 Mustang? Or Transall C-160?
Well it was originally a Fairchild Republic product but that team was acquired by Northrop Grumman so technically I suppose it would depend on the date of manufacture ?
Pre 1987 definitely Fairchild Republic .
Post 1987 either would be correct as Fairchild Republic is now a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman.
Of course Fairchild Republic itself was an amalgamation of Republic Aviation (P47 Thunderbolt) and Fairchild Aircraft (C-119 Boxcar etc). The lineage of US aircraft corporations is quite convoluted.
Mergemungus and Takeovertastic.
Think Iāll leave the manufacturer off on this one. Title is getting silly long already
(Harry Enfield characters if youāre wonderingā¦ )
Pilot Description: I prefer bush, STOL, GA, vintage and very light jets and that is reflected in the aircraft I have chosen.
Where I Fly: Anywhere in the world that looks amazing but mainly San Diego, Southern California (especially the desert), Idaho and the Northwest, Canada, Alaska and New Zealand.
TOP 10 for May, 2023
- SWS Kodiak: glass cockpit, but the power and STOL capabilities make it my top plane. I canāt see anything dethroning it.
- Milviz Beaver: the perfect bush plane, steam gauge, stable - what a beast. The Got Friends freeware mod brings it up to just barely below my #1.
- Black Square Bonanza A36: one of my favorite planes, even when it was just glass. But Black Square makes incredible products, with so many things to do in the cockpit and so many old school navigation systems, the Bonanza blasts right up into 3rd.
- Black Square Analog King Air: when I want to fly fast GA, with all the analog bells and whistles.
- Asobo ATR 42/72-600: Iām not an airliner type of simmer, but this just fits the bill - commuter, turboprop, just the right amount of FMS to keep me interested without frustrating me. Lots of fun!
- Black Square Baron: a tad slower than the King Air and a little more comfortable to fly, with all the analog bells and whistles that BS is now famous for.
- Got Gravel Savage Carbon: FREE! A wonderful mod of the Savage Cub, tons of power and climbing capabilities, XSTOL to be honest. I actually fly this more than any other plane.
- WB-Sim 172: slow technique work. Just amazing! Get the Boris sound package too!
- Microsoft Beechcraft Model D18S Twin Beech (with the Denarq mod): once I got into the details and passed the frustration of not knowing enough, then read the manual, this is the icing on the cake of an already great plane.
- SWS RV-14: pure joy, fast, aerobatic, also a good cruiser.
CHANGES:
Black Square Cessna 208 Grand Caravan out, Asobo ATR in.
Got Friends Wilga out, Black Square Baron in.
Just Flight Warrior out, Twin Beech in.
HONORABLE MENTIONS (which could all easily make my Top 10):
Islander, Staggerwing, Sting S4, DC-3, BS Cessna 208, Vision Jet, Honda Jet, V35, Arrows, RV-10, Cessna 310R, WB-Sim/JPL 152, AN-2, Warrior, Wilga
Sorry, Iām giving the Asobo C150 the love. Itās the plane I learn how to fly IRF. Itās like the your love you never forget.

What we have in game is the c152 the later post 1977 variant.
The actual c150 had a smaller engine than the 152 and insane 40 degree flaps.
I have flown a c150 in real life, with the full 40 degree barndoor flaps deployed, and the smaller engine, the only direction you are going is down, climbing is not a thing. When deploying full 40 degree flaps and nosing over to maintain speed you feel like your are pointing the nose directly at the ground, the experience is akin to going over the top in a roller coaster.
I do hope we get a 150 eventually.
Sorry Iām lost. You mean the 152? Which was on your previous list also.
DM sent dude, I donāt know which version they released, so I had put Northrop Grumman for the A10
My top 10 list for May could look the same as the April one, however I thought I would replace some positions with planes I just flew more often this month.
-
Flying Ironās Spitfire: Still my number 1, because itās just so much fun to fly and it gets better with every update.
-
Blackbirdās Corsair: Like I said last month, if it had Flying Ironās custom ground handling this would be my number 1. Itās just so much fun to fly, usually with warbird aerobatics Iām at 4-5Gās with the Corsair I always end up at 6-7Gās.
-
AT Simulations Antonov An-2: Itās great for relaxed sightseeing tours, STOL flying and for elephant dance aerobatics.
-
Flying Ironās Hellcat: Itās a fantastic warbird, I just enjoy the Corsair and Spitfire a bit more, because they are a bit more challenging.
-
Blackbirdās Analog Porter: Initially I flew the glass cockpit Porter for about 30 min and it was just not for me. However, over the last few weeks I finally got into the analog Porter and really enjoy it. Itās perfect for STOL flying or scenic flights.
-
A1Rās Ryan ST-A Special: The ST-A is one of my favorite 1930s designs in real life, I think itās one of the prettiest aircraft designs ever build. For some reason initially I didnāt really enjoy flying the sim version. But over the last few weeks I started to really enjoy it. With its polished fuselage itās just perfect for sunset aerobatics.
-
Flight Replicas PA-11 Cub Special: Iām lucky enough to have a bit of stick time in a local 90 HP Super Cub (only in the air) and the flight model of the PA-11 feels quite realistic. Itās perfect for short relaxing local flightsā¦and also for basic aerobatics. I just wish Flight Replicas aircraft had more systems depth.
-
Douglas DC-3 with Duckworks mod: With every update to the mod, it gets better. Itās also one of the best sounding aircraft in the sim and just one of the most iconic airplanes ever build.
-
Taogās Hangar Alouette III: Iām normally not into helicopters, however I really enjoy the Alouette. Itās vintage, fun to fly and sounds great. Iām still hopeless at landing it on a helipad, but thatās part of the fun.
-
Flying Ironās P-38 Lightning: Itās very close to perfect, but I just donāt use it often enough. I think I only flew it once this month.
All my other listings from last month and quite a few others could make the list easily and my top 10 could look different if you would ask me tomorrow. There are just so many fantasitic planes in the sim with many more great ones on the horizon =)
Old list:
- Flying Ironās Spitfire
- Blackbirdās Corsair
- Flying Ironās Hellcat
- AT Simulations Antonov An-2
- Got Friends Wilga
- Flying Ironās P-38 Lightning
- Douglas DC-3 with Duckworks mod
- AzurPoly TB-30 Epsilon
- Flight Replicas P40N
- IniBuilds P-40F
My may list
1st. Black Square Analog Caravan 208 : loved the Asobo EX version wich one I flew a lot during 2022, but the BS steam gauge version is just a big step up and a joy to fly vor to vor with all his gauge & needle acting realisticlty. Concidering is High capacity and ceiling it s a must have when starting a career in FSeconomy or other platform
2nd. Black Square Beechcraft 350 King Air : I guess itās a nice transition to the Jets, he got a large capacity and range.I wasnāt used to the default B350, wich l never really flew, but having this depth of detail is very engaging to learn an aircraft, very nice to fly, love the ability to fly without the glass cockpit and flying only with some collins and kns80 ! His texturing give that feeling to be on the middle of a photography !
3rd. WeptBurrito Cessna 172 enhancement mod like for the Black Square aircraft, having engine damages add so much to the immersion and require to fly by book !
4. Cessna C414 by flysimware : very love all details modelled, and the overhaul work done on it, maybe regret the texturing not being that high.
5. Blackbird DHC2 beaver : ( love his retro look <3, hate it s low speed )
6. Black Square Bonanza : I love its agility, allow quiet long flight with tip tank, and having those random faillure is a very good point (with a rate of x4 or x8 ! ) requiring to stay aware the whole flight and to learn to manage them !
7. C152 JPL by Weptburrito : (again) nice stuff to learn the basics (for free !!!) with great flight model, having various avionics setups make it a much better aircraft than the stock one.
8. Bell 407 : ( thanks to Asobo for those updates bringing new ways to fly around scenery !)
9. FBW A320NX : I m starting to learn the airliner, tried the stock one, if it may be nice to have many inoperative switches to donāt be distracted by minor features and focus on the essential, at some point itās fast become boring, thanks flybywire to allow me to discover in depth the airliners systems ! if I m not weary too early I ll maybe invest in a fenix modelā¦ I m still hesitant since I heard it got some fps impact.
10. Black Square Baron : well I must admit I donāt fly it that much but each time I grab in I have pretty good flight ! I m really sick of those gauges animated by vor degradation and inertia ā¦ the panel is very similar to the bonanza, despite a flight model heavier and less flexible it allow a faster travel, imo it s still fresh and need to mature a bit more, ( heard JD made many progress, so I wait and see for the futur updates, I m confident) ! so sad it canāt carry more people .
PS : change done +add Baron, -delete the microsoft/asobo Goose
See what happens when you get old ā¦ C152 Aosobo.
Youād think the distance between the 2 and the 0 on the keyboard was far enuff apart even my fat fingers could tell the difference.

BTW it was a C150 that I learned to fly. One could āland/stallā five to six feet above the runway and bounce like a pogo stick. I was told by my Fight Instructor that if I kept that up weād see the wheels next to our heads.
Yeah, I learned in a Cessna 150 also. I made a few of those perfect full stall landings but still 5 feet above the runway. Fortunately the spring steel main gear is pretty strong, guess it was designed for student pilot landings. The drag from 40 degrees of flaps made you lose airspeed pretty fast not giving a lot of time to finesse your landings.
I also learned in 150s (and a couple Aerobats). Those 40 deg of flaps were awesome and really helped with doing some really short greaser landings. I guess they limited flaps to 30 deg on newer models because some people got into trouble landing/dropping in short of the runway?
The Cessna 150 was so anemic in climb, but I flew a 150hp conversion a few times (the factory 150 only had 100hp) and that was a beast! Power on stalls were frightening with the much steeper angle before break
See what happens when you get old ā¦ C152 Aosobo.
No worries
There are too many planes with similar number-names, so I just wanted to be sure.
Only one change to my previous list, but the dropped Kodiak may come back when I finally get an Xtouch Mini to use for the G1000. However, a plane is also likely to get booted for the Transall if/when that is released through Orbx. This past month I actually flew each one of these 10 below.
- BN2 Islander [BlackBox Simulation]
- Antonov An-2 [Microsoft]
Now using the old-school non-GPS one following the update. Wilga-like non-English cockpit? Check. Bird Dog-like visibility (at least on pilotās side)? Check. Fenix-level photorealism and opening windows etc? Check. P38-like complicated and satisfying start-up? Check. Islander-like stable flight and STOL? Check. - BAe 146 [Just Flight]
Some nice new features in the recent update - bring on the long-awaited FMC. - Airbus A320 Neo (A32NX) [Asobo / FlyByWire]
The definition of continuous improvement. - Cessna L19 Bird Dog [BlackBox Simulation]
Still the best sightseeing plane - two open windows and no copilot seat, and slow. An army spotter, after all. - ATR 72-600 [Microsoft/ HH]
While not as good as the BAe or FBW this is still very enjoyable to prep, fly and use with GSX - on Loganair and AirNZ routes mainly. - Piper PA-28R Arrow III [Just Flight]
- Cessna 152 [JPLogistics/WeptBurrito]
- P-38 Lightning [Flying Iron Simulations]
- Mooney Ovation [Carenado]
I guess they limited flaps to 30 deg on newer models because some people got into trouble landing/dropping in short of the runway?
I believe the main problem was actually go-arounds and touch-and-goes with people in the heat of the moment forgetting to retract them, or leaving it to late, resulting in some unfortunate run-ins with things like trees at the end of the runway with sometimes fatal outcomes.
