Your Current TOP 10 Aircraft

Re: the Asobo King Air, see thread below for a new freeware mod to add Collins avionics to the plane, ala the CJ4. Or alternatively check out the Black Square King Air Analog for older-school flying.

And re: #10, the Black Square TBM-850 mod is a top five plane for me.

The bug with the ATR is fixed.

Thank you for joining in and welcome!

Am I right in thinking this is actually called the DV-20 in MSFS?
(from Google search, it was only called this in Austria, but my sheet from since day one has it as DV20 so I am a little unsure now!)

I did once! Will remember it for ever. And yeah JF did a grand job on the sounds emanating from human-made speakers that fit in a house, but nothing (I mean NOTHING) can reproduce the noise from the real thing. It’s not just sound or a noise, really… it was more of a feeling of the world collapsing lol. It would shake peoples hardware to bits if it even got to 25% the effect and would be totally illegal lol

I have the Zippy by Rara and have been trying to decide which of theirs to get next.

I see you are loving the Flea. Anything else to sell me on by them?

All of Craig’s work is great honestly. Depends what you like to fly. I love my quirky slow things with character. The Wren just had an update with new sounds (not tried it yet) and the new Horten is very unique (but extremely far from being slow lol).

The Bulldog autogyro is also fantastic! Raw, retro style but modern, epic radial engine and flys like nothing else. I’ve only just dropped it from my Top 10 but it’s still there in spirit really. Just was time for a change!

I know he’s got some more great stuff cooking in the oven too. He’s one of my insta-buy developers (anything) and there are not many of those!

Tested a few ways, and no it does not
I suppose it is well outside the scope of what the SDK can do natively.
Probably a good thing! Can hear the cries of ā€œthis thing is brokenā€ from customers already.

Ah well. I suspected as much. Not a big deal.

My list for the month:

  • PMDG 737-600
  • JustFlight BAe-146
  • Big Radials JRF-6B Goose
  • PMDG DC-6
  • Asobo/Carenado Beech 18 (with Denarq mod)
  • Asobo/Aeroplane Heaven DC-3 (with Duckworks mod)
  • Flysimware Cessna 414A
  • GotFriends PZL-104 Wilga
  • A2A Comanche
  • FlyingIron Spitfire

I finally got on the A2A Comanche train after many months of not believing the hype. Well, the hype is 100% real! The way it flies and feels is significantly different from all other planes. Every detail is modeled. It’s in a class of its own.

Sadly there’s only room for the top 10, so the Sting S4 drops off the list for now. Still a great plane, that got even better with the SU15 update to the G3X avionics.

I am counting them separately so which one? I will put Piston for now unless I hear back from you (then I can correct it if needed). Thanks!

Wouldn’t this put the Duke lower on the list then they deserve? Hypothetically, if the top 3 points is 90 70 60 and the duke piston has 50 and turbine has 50, both are out of the top 3 while the duke as a whole would actually be the no 1 plane.

I think when there are more than 2 types of aircraft Baracus does count them as one for the chart but gives a breakdown of both for those who are interested

So it shouldn’t affect chart places

Ah cool thanks, makes sense. My post can be ignored then.

Yep, done same way as the PMDG 737’s. Combined in the table but broken down separately (as they are separate purchases) at the end of the main table so you can see which ones got the votes.

To be honest, it’s already becoming a problem as people don’t read that I need them to specificy a variant when they vote, so I have to chase, and they don’t reply. So I might drop the idea!!

Hardly any time to fly this month because real life intervened. But I got home on the day SU15 released. Great updates for the default Cessna 172, Cabri G2 and especially the G3X.

Raul of FSReborn managed to update the Sting S4 with the new Working Title G3X even before SU15 was officially released. This plane really was held back by the old Garmin implementation. Now the combination of WT G3X and PMS50 GTN750 brings the Sting S4 to another level, so it absolutely deserves a place on my list.

  1. Cowansim R22
  2. FlyInside 206
  3. HPG H160
  4. Justflight PA-38 Tomahawk
  5. A2A Comanche 250
  6. FSReborn FSR500
  7. Taog’s Hangar SA315B Lama
  8. FSReborn Sting S4
  9. Miltech Simulations CH-47D
  10. GotFriends Wilga

Hope you are keeping alright mate.

You are really making me want to break my personal Cowan ā€œbanā€ and try the R22!

I edited my original post, Baracus. It’s the Grand Duke but only because that’s the only one I’ve been flying so far.
