Yes. They had the ingenious idea of adding fuel tanks to said engine.
Regarding the real life c172 discussed above. I am shorter and even with as many cushions as I can get away with to raise the seat height and push me forward (there is a limit to how high you can go before the pedals are out of reach) I still find the dash blocks my view. Annoying during taxi.
Some 172 are modded with higher seats and extended pedals.
My new topic for voting on your choice of MOST ICONIC AIRCRAFT is live! Letās see how this goes
Thanks to @RagingWombat839 for the original push to do it, and everyone else that helped me narrow down the initial lists of answer options.
Delegation you see, best way to get things done! Been there and voted, thanks!
I havenāt posted my top 10 for a while but here goes
||1) Black Square Piston Duke|
||2) Black Square Turbine Duke
||3) Black Square TBM 850
||4) A2A Comanche
||5) Black Box BN Trislander (G-JOEY)
||6) Just Flight 146
||7) Just Flight F28
||8) FSW Lear 35
||9) CAS Piper J3 Cub
||10) Milviz Cessna 310
These are all fantastic aircraft to fly and Iām very grateful to all the devs. Iāll be a follower for MSFS2024 as I get much more enjoyment out of these models than I do from most of the stock sim aircraft. Iād say all the devs here have a great approach to QA and itās a culture, not a thing you can switch on or off as youād like.
I will wait on 2024 until I know I can enjoy my fleet there without any annoying bugsā¦ if that is a quick process, if MSFS 2024 is really good, Iāll be a fast follower - but if it isnāt ready, Iām patient when it comes to an immersive flying experience and I shall wait it out.
My October list
1 A2A Piper Comanche 250
2 Flightsimware Cessna 414
3 JustFlight BAE 146
4 JustFlight Fokker F28 Pro
5 Wing42 Boeing 247D
6 PMDG Boeing 737-600
7 Redwing Constellation
8 Beechcraft D18 (denarq mod)
9 Redwing Farman F60
10 Cows DA42
Almost the same list, excepted COWS DA42 now number 10.
First post and Iāll echo the sentiment of many posters about this being one of the best threads in this forum! So far Iāve been more about airliners than GA, since Iāve never flown on anything but airliners. Being on Xbox and still working up the mental justification to splurge for the best planes in the game, my list for the month seems a bit plain, but here goes, in no specific order:
-Inibuilds A320: Lately itās become my favourite airliner. Iāve been learning quite a bit from this, and I actually find following its procedures from C&D quite calming. This can do a lot of the shorter routes Iāve flown IRL, and do them well!
-Deimos Griffin: got this since it had ok/good reviews, is flown by the Brazilian AF and I got it on sale. This is one of the planes I use for very silly stuff. Would be ace with less black screens.
-LVFR a340: when I bought it, seemed like a good balance between something TOO cheap and cheerful (like, say, a Virtualcol E-jet) and something TOO expensive for me. What do you know? I rather like flying this for longer routes, has enough of its own thing going on compared to the a320s. Speaking of longer routes:
-Inibuilds a310: this can be even more entertaining than their a320, while still having some similarities so I can use the few things I learned so far.
-NextGen EMB 110: Short flights are cool. With an old school Brazilian bimotor theyāre even cooler.
Volocopter: this is REALLY easy to fly low and near landmarks and PG cities. No idea why FS doesnāt consider it a Heli for takeoffs and landing, spawning from heliports just seems to make sense with what is essentially a manned drone. Still a blast.
RP Simulations Tucano: another inexpensive Embraer, another good plane for doing silly stuff. I would probably just use this for GA a good bit if it didnāt need such extreme trimming in the air.
Iāve been reading the forum a lot and it seems Iāll have to muster up the funds and jump into the >35ā¬ to really get the best experience in the sim
Cheers to you all and happy flying!
Full kudos for making this thread your first post
If you donāt already know there is an improvement mod & wwise sound pack for the Bandeirante which makes it almost a perfect aircraft.
Cheers to you also! Thanks for the votes and welcome
Just checking, you only want to list 7 for now?
As for costs, yes I think you generally do get what you pay for I suppose. In terms of time you can sink in to a deeper product and overall enjoyment, I think the price difference can often be paid back to you in Ā£$/per hour of entertainment!
Shame you do not have access to some of the epic free aircraft we can get on PC whilst you are on Xbox, because there are certainly more than a handful that are way above a lot of payware in terms of features and quality now.
This is my first time submitting to this thread as I am fairly new to MSFS (about 3 months). I have been āflyingā since the SubLogic days. I do think that you will recognize a pattern here so here goes:
- Pilotās Boeing B314 - yes there are some issues but works for me
- Big Radials Grumman Goose JRF-6B
- Virtaviaās Grumman HU-16 - My conversion from FSX
- Hanger713ās Camair 480 - so well done for the price
- Mario Noriegaās Fn333 Nardi Riviera - flew this years ago in FSX
- flyndiveās Grumman J2F Duck - very fun to fly
- FrenchVFRās Canso/PBY-I fly the HydroZ version in XP11
- MS Hughes H-4 Hercules
- Asobo Icon A5
- GotFriendsā Lisa Akoya
What can I say, I am a water guy. Thank you for reading.
Is the Nardi Riviera available on xbox ?
Now thats a real hidden gem at a very very affordable price.
First time posting here, but Iāll give it a go. I have some traveling for work this month so I wonāt have much sim time, but hereās what Iāve been enjoying, in no particular order:
- Fenix A321 - I like the slight heft of it as I fly around the US doing AAL routes.
- FSR M500 - Such a nicely modeled plane and the systems depth (particularly wear and tear) is great as I do some charter flights (and pay for repairs due to my boneheaded mistakes).
- TBM 850 - This one Iām taking around the world, using mostly radio navigation. My next stop is Gibraltar and so far, itās been a great experience.
- Vision Jet - Hereās one that I love for getting really up close and personal, but still needing to get away fast.
- Headwinds A330 - Probably the best āfreeā plane Iām flying right now.
- LVFR A340 - I know these guys get some flack sometimes, but I have really enjoyed flying this girl on long-haul flights, even despite occasional issues.
Iām relatively new to the sim, but so far itās been great fun! Also, thank you for this thread - itās given me a lot of great ideas for future purchases, although I might hold off on more until after 2024 is released, just to see how it all shapes outā¦
Baracus how are you able to keep this up? I donāt know your personal situation but I know I am juggling life with a job and a kid to even find time to fly in the sim at all. How you manage these huge topics of hundreds of people voting and revoting is beyond me. Massive kudos dude.
Thanks for the warm welcome! So far itās just these seven, which Iām optimistic will change with 2024 around the corner. Thereās also the pmdg 736 and some really cool GA planes to jump into! Cheers
Thatās a lot of Goose/Duck variants and no mention of Big Radials effort?
Is this one just your personal thing? I mean, not available to download for others? If it is available, is it free? I could not find anything about it for FS2020 with a light search
Quite a few new ones you have added to the table though, so thanks!
Surprised it is the first mention of the Experimental MXA by Got Friends (I did not know that was based on āLisa Akoyaā. That is a silly name! I prefer GFās, lol)
haha! Firstly I find it fun, to read everyones thoughts, chat here about random stuff ā and generally see how new aircraft releases come in and settle down into the order. Also it helps me keep up to date with what is available (that was the original intent of the topic and still is).
I also have a little one (6 now) but I work from home, so I can usually find a bit of time each day (or several smaller chunks) to keep on top of the votes. I need to do that otherwise it would be overwhelming to go through it all nearer the end of the month.
Essentially, it is fun to do and I have my system now so it is some work almost every day but I am trying to do it as efficiently as possible. Creating the monthly reports takes a little more time and sometimes I miss the Sunday (as if I have time to FLY, I would rather do THAT instead sometimes!) but I have found no way of fully automating the whole thing as it is pretty complex (and non-formulaic) in terms of data. All good fun!
Thanks bud for the kind words!!
Impressive work ! I like what you did with the results

OK thanks for the update. So to clarify, from your previous post in April, I have REMOVED the following if you no longer ārecommendā them?
Again I reiterate, this topic is NOT about what you have been flying recently, but what are the best products, and your favourites, and āhighly recommend aircraftā from your collection - ones you could help other users to make decisions to buy or not.
REMOVED:
- Maule MX-7-180 (Heaven Design & Giba)

- Bell 407 (Asobo)
