Your Current TOP 10 Aircraft

I suspect Career Mode may also play a part in its popularity as of late.

As someone who plays career mode, my top 10 are pretty much all there is for career mode.

That makes me wonder if @Baracus250 would be interested in adding a flag to aircraft that are Career-compatible, just to highlight aircraft those of us using Career mode might be more interested in  (of course the caveat of if purchased through the MSFS Marketplace would apply).

My career path:

Cessna 172 Cargo

Vision Jet or Cessna 208 Cargo

PC-24 (Premium) or PC-12 (Base)

737

The lack of Heavy Cargo really makes the 737 a grind.

Yeah I can do. I’d need some help in that though!

A discord user (darkstar.2 - not sure if they’re on these forums or not) created and maintains this amazing list of aircraft and their level of Career compatibility - this is probably your best starting point to make a separate table in your document that could pull in whether or not a given aircraft is Career-compatible. I think for the purposes of your list, calling out which specializations the aircraft qualifies for is not necessary - simply a ā€œYesā€ or ā€œNoā€ for Career mode overall would be great.

On the subject of career mode, I’m honestly surprised we don’t have these Cessna aircraft yet, Cessna 206, Cessna 421, and Cessna 402C yet with having career mode

That, and ending sentences with prepositions, which is the type of nonsense up with which I will not put! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Heya. Here is a preview, all the data I could add from that source for now. Before I add it to the month pages (will just do current month onwards I think) is that looking like you expected?

Here’s a little something extra for the ā€œdedicated 50ā€.
Earlier I noted (which was later verified by Baracus) that the brakes on the default Asobo DA-40 were woefully inadequate in FS 2024.

Well, I just discovered that if you install the free mod from FS2, the brakes will work as they should.

I know that many of the folks here are flying the Cows version of the DA-40, but if you are still interested in the default bird, it’s worth a try, I think.

I took six months off from the sim, I do this every couple of years to catch up on games I have missed. And it is taking me months to try out all the new and old planes again. Haven’t even started on the helicopters yet. Hopefully will have a top ten compiled for November.

That said, one new/old plane really stands out. The RANS S6S Coyote II. It is now 2024 native which is a big plus for me. I prefer the 2024 flight model to 2020 which now feels a bit lifeless when I switch to older model planes.

You get four models, regular, tundra, tail dragger, and floats (with gear). It can have mechanical failures. There’s a zillion liveries. And you can have a modern or a classic cockpit.

I just love having a plane that you can set down or take off from anywhere like a Zlin, but it feels more like a 172 in the air. Creature comforts, and a magenta line it can follow. Really cool autopilot too. Everything you need, but unlike any I have learned before.

And for the price? There’s not much out there that comes close. Feature complete, study level, multiple models and cockpits, and a fair price? This is a must buy for anyone who even slightly enjoys bush flying.

I don’t know the developer, FlyBoySim is it? Watch them going forward. They are on to something. Reminds me of Ants’ planes, full of features but priced right.

It doesn’t feel too fancy or modified like the Draco or Freedom Fox, it feels like a plane that was designed to be sold to the masses, and it flies like a sensible bush plane.

Count on the RANS Coyote II being at or near the top of my list whenever I finally get around to compiling it.

What the Wilma did for 2020, the Coyote II is doing for my 2024 experience. A bush plane that just feels more solid and complete than all the others. Not the craziest, lightest, or most powerful, but still a STOL capable monster on land and in the air.

I know a LOT of you will love this plane if you pick it up, and it is criminally underrated on the list, so I had to rant and rave about it in here.

My revisedTop Ten for November 2025 (all in MSFS 2024)

  1. Baron Professional [Black Square] A new purchase this month and I am very impressed. This looks and sounds fabulous and handles very well indeed. I can’t help but put this to the top of my list this month. Just amazing.

  2. Comanche 250 [A2A Simulations] This is my Comanche. There are many like it but this one is mine. Please excuse the misquote of part of the USMC Rifleman’s greed but it feels like mine thanks to the excellent state saving A2A have implemented.

  3. BAe Hawk T1/A V2 [Just Flight] I’ve been reacquainting myself with this gem. It was my most flown jet in MSFS 2020 and now I’ll revisit areas like RAF Valley and the Mach Loop, the rest of the UK, fly around the Swiss Alps and more again in it in MSFS 2024. Looks great inside and out. It has practice bombs, drop tanks and missiles. Gun pod is inert sadly. Just Flight have steadily improved this since it was released and it is in a great state now. I have several other fast military jets that are good but I like this the best.

  4. Bonanza Professional [Black Square] Given the price of the Baron/Bonanza Professional bundle it seemed a no brainer to get the Bonanza along with the Baron. My brief flights in it bring it into my top ten. Time will tell if it rises in the list.v

  5. Avro Lancaster [Aeroplane Heaven] my favourite multiengined warbird and a valued gift from my wife who also gifted me a taxi ride in Just Jane at East Kirby.

  6. Rans S-6S [FlyBoy Simulations] Thanks to Brett Mercier’s list for October which gave me a heads up on this aircraft I purchased it and am thoroughly enjoying it. Currently it is my favourite bush flying aircraft.

  7. Grumman G-111 / HU-16 Albatross [Mike Johnson/Microsoft] My favourite amphibian/flying boat.

  8. A6M5 Zero [Blackbird Simulations] Looks and sounds great. A much appreciated gift from my son.

  9. Curtiss P-40F [Inibuilds] Not the most detailed but a good looking model and an enjoyable P-40 which was another gift from my son. I enjoy doing pretend airshow displays in it. I just hope A2A consider redoing their FSX P-40 in MSFS2024.

  10. Experimental Mini-500 [Got Friends] a fun, inexpensive little helicopter.

Out of the top ten is the Blackbird C310R, which is a surprise to me but it is really overshadowed now by the Baron. Also out is the IFE MB.339.

  2. A2A Comanche 250
  3. Taog’s Hangar - OH6A Cayuse/Hughes 500C
  4. Carenado - Cessna CT210N
  5. Carenado - Cessna 172 - This little classic bird has incredible views in VR, the sounds the feel of it is just perfect IMO. Perfect for sightseeing.
  6. Just Flight - Piper Turbo Arrow
  7. PMDG - DC6
  8. CAS - Piper J3C
  9. Blackbird Cessna 310
  10. Rans S-6S - Fantastic little bush plane, I’ve not had as much time in it as I’d have liked, but this is one that I will get more then my monies worth out of it.

Thanks to this thread, it’s helped me spend my money a bit more wisley :joy:

A2A seems like the most popular developer here for add-on study level planes.
Being perhaps a tad bit on the thrifty side when it comes to purchasing add-ons, neither of their present inventory really appeals to me much.

However, and this is a big unequivocal promise, were they to release a C172 for MSFS, I would break my piggy bank to buy it. Their version was the best plane, IMO, in FSX.

Has anyone heard anything about this possibility?

Phew, Carenado just pushed one out so I wonder if anyone else will risk it so soon.

There’s been a non-stop parade of Cessnas over the past few months. An actual study-level 172 would be revelation!

Not sure why you are quoting me ol’ boy, I didn’t mention the 172.
