Youtuber Reviews, Your go to reviewer

Greetings,
with so many of the leading Youtubers now camped within the MS sphere of influence, who would be your go to reviewer for a truly independent appraisal of MSFS2024?

None. Most just are too technical, or focus on systems and cockpit with the camera being interior. If one was more trailer like showing off the external of a plane, and scenery and missions, & take requests to show certain things or places, then did like it.

I’ve been playing various flight simulators for many years, so I’m very familiar with the streamer Chewwy94 and only trust him. Others often provide misleading information or have limited knowledge about flight simulators, including MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024.

Writing that reminded me that I hadn’t renewed my subscription to his Twitch channel - I’ve just fixed that, because he definitely deserves it.

A330 Driver and Into the Blue Simulations. They both focus mainly on systems and how accurate they are simulated and it’s what I care about.

Into the Blue Simulations for top quality unbiased aircraft reviews, and Simhanger for everything else

+1 for Into the Blue Simulations. He always does in depth reviews showing off the systems with proper procedures and is no stranger to criticising if things aren’t up to snuff. He’s a real world airline pilot too, if I’m not mistaken.

For a more fun and off the cuff experience I like AvAngel. She does the jump in and just go routine, which is entertaining but still highlights the features and the pitfalls when getting started in a new aircraft. She also provides a good overview regarding the features and the visual quality.

There definitely won’t be a shortage of creators making reviews of MSFS 2024. One thing that is noticeable is the group of creators invited to preview events showing videos so far are gamers with large channels or creators with very limited actual flight time who lack the flight experience to give an honest review outside of airplanes being shiny or scenery looking better than MSFS 2020.

Funnily enough my first thought when I saw the preview videos dropping was one of wishing that A330 driver had been invited to it

C.W. Lemoine was invited to the premiere review. He is former military pilot, current airline pilot and long time DCS/MSFS player.

Into the Blue Simulation is my first port of call. I find myself on the same page as OverKillSimulations with his general views about the sim so I subscribe to him too.

Just in case you weren’t aware, @Chewwy94’s day job is working on the MSFS team as one of our Community Managers.

You are correct and he is the only exception that I know of. I saw his video a few days ago. However, my statement is representative of the general background of the creators invited to the event. C.W. Lemoine has a very large following. This is probably why he was invited vs the usual creators that are also professional pilots.

For overkill..all IS fabulous…i m bored…

Into The Blue, Jonathan Beckett, Fly From Home are my go to reviewers. Our very own @Stearman948713 has helped me spend a few dollars based on his epic videos!

I also like AvAngel. She flies like I do and tends to like the same sort of planes as far as I can tell. Her voice also sounds EXACTLY like someone I used to work with.

@Jacobes16 Thank you very much for the very kind shoutout =) Was very surprised to read my name here!

My go to reviewers are Into the Blue for really detailed in depth reviews.

Belatu42, who is a real-world helicopter pilot, has fantastic helicopter tutorials and reviews. I learned most of my (virtual) helicopter flying through him…and still have to learn a LOT from him =)

And cgaviator, who is a real-world Tornado and Hawk pilot makes some of the best MSFS videos in my opinion, especially when it comes to military aviation. His videos are very well produced, informative and fun to watch.

Into the Blue is good for at least somewhat informed reviews. I’ll also check out particular aircraft via AvAngel, though she goes in seemingly blind or not knowing what she’s talking about sometimes, though I can at least get a better assessment of sound and visuals through her user experience.
