17k PC under 50 FPS

My system specs
11900k
x2 strix 3090 oc ( only using 1 gpu for flight sim )
128 gb ram
980 samsung ssds
Full custom water cooled system

Have a look at the screenshots, this performance is terrible 1440p ultra preset, all traffic is off

That system truly is a beast!
So something’s clearly off in your case.
What’s your rendering scale set to?
Do you fly Vanilla or could some add on or mod drag your performance down?

Think that I see it. Your rendeing is above 100%. Put it to 100% and you’ll fly :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

All default, render scale 100%.

I have pruchased a few 3rd party aircrafts from marketplace but im not flying them in this case.

This seems clear to me. 1440p is mentioned but those dev screenshots say the game is running at 4k (maybe a bug or not, but it clearly says it!).

A 3090 cannot do 4k 60 on ultra, performance is in line with those settings.

Not from your screen shot. Your render is higher than your screen resolution.

What is the airport ICAO code ? I will make a test.

Disable traffic and fps will jump to 75

He said all trafic is off.

Apologies its render scale 150, there is no difference in fps from 100 scale to 150, just testing.

All traffic is off.

Putting it back to 100 helped many others. There’s no reason to render higher than your screen.

Plz post your results at 100!

Its new york city

My CPU is a ryzen 5 3400g. I’ve used the developer mode to check the FPS and before the update both my cpu and gpu numbers were around 25-30 at Heathrow with FPS of around 20-25. Since the update the number by the GPU is now 1-2 which is great but the CPU number is 40-45 which obviously isn’t great. I thought this update was meant to improve the CPU mainly. Just wondering if anything I’ve not done right

And? Is it better now? I’m really curious as many people do not seem to be aware of the performance impact of the render scale slider.

render scale 100, a little smoother but still not great

There certainly is a reason – antialiasing (supersampling). Improves graphics quality – not as much as an actual 4K monitor, but it’s absolutely noticeable.

Okay, thanks for answering. This however comes at a FPS cost.

The greatest impact are too high render scales, SSAA although using a 4K monitor and 4K settings and last but not least a misconfigured NVIDIA control panel.

Thanks for posting!
I got a steady 50+ when flying Newark to LaGuardia with AI piloting.
On a lesser system (i7 9700, RTX3080)
Sure there’s no third party stuff happening whatsoever?

This is an issue with your computer. I have a single 3090 running 4K on Ultra with 100% scaling and the lowest it’s gotten over NYC is 38 fps for a brief second. Otherwise it’s 45 to 60 fps for me and very smooth.

Maybe your dual 3090s are causing lag.

hmm… is there anyway of clearing 3rd party stuff back to default without uninstalling it?
