17k PC under 50 FPS

Yes, 17k seems exaggerated to me once I read his config.

I consider myself lucky to only have to use blender for 3d modeling and rendering. But i’m doing interior design only and 90% of my work is presented with 3d visuals. I stopped using adobe a long time ago, since it’s not worth the monthly payment for color correction in photoshop onlyšŸ˜…

Cad and indesign stuff is done by external partnersšŸ™

The water cooling setup is pretty basic also, the tubes just kind of take the shortest route instead of blending so id doubt its a boutique build.

Could be there’s 20 980ssd’s cramped in there somewherešŸ™ˆ

Unfortunately I am in a ā€œheavierā€ situation than yours.

I use daily 3ds Max + Adobe PS +Adobe Lightroom + Cubase for music production so I have a lot of stuff installed here. As I did a lot, a lot of benchmarks when I build personally my workstation, I know for sure, some processes are ā€œkillingā€ my CPU while gaming.

Or maybe, 2 x 3090RTX = 14k. All the rest is the other hardware! I am just kidding of course…

Although with GPU prices now days who knows lol, you might be right.

This is why I wrote my previous comment…

I have a 3080 RTX from ASUS TUF and I was very lucky to buy it here in Paris for 960 EUR before Christmas!

I was fortunate enough to grab a 3080 FE for MSRP here in the US before even the retail prices went up due to sanctions, literally felt like winning the lottery

I also use my system for production work but the other software you have installed doesn’t really affect anything as far gaming is concerned, as long as the launchers (like Creative Cloud) are shut down and even if they are not, it’s not going to impact the system when gaming to enough of a degree to cause issues. As for dual 3090, no idea what type of work anybody would be doing on a hard line, water cooled, RGB ā€œgamer rigā€ like the one the original poster has but it seems excessive and if they are SLI (a technology that NVIDA has disavowed) it almost certainly causing more problems than it’s fixing.

Like rgb is so much more expensive.. And 3d software can use as much gpu’s as you throw at it. You can also link multiple pc’s to spread the workload on all the gpu’s they all have available. They will all work at 100% all the time.

How do you think disney films are rendered? On a single pc?:joy:

Lion king 2 arriving januari 2085 in a cinema near your house…

If I were you, I’d create a specific profile for simming. In this profile you can uncheck all kinds of mem hungry processes in the start up items list.
Do you think this would work for you?

Not RGB, SLI 3090s with custom water blocks.

Nope, because otherwise he wouldn’t have gotten 73 reactions  (and counting)

Pardon my tone but i don’t like when people brag about expensive things they have. And how the photo is related to any of this? It’s like r/pcmr where kids share their rgb builds competing who will get more likes. And yes he got ripped off. Unless he has some other expensive hardware he didn’t mention.
RAM could really impact performance greatly. There could be not a lot of difference between lets say 3600mhz and 4400mhz, but there could be a huge difference between jdec 2133mhz and 3000mhz for example. It depends on a game, i have no idea how MSFS is affected by ram speeds.
Cpu is hot and is worse than ryzen, especially for work. These 300W intel cpu’s could throttle even with liquid cooling.
Other than this, community folder not being empty and what i mentioned before i have no idea.
I only have 5800x and 2070s and the game runs at ~35-55fps after the update on ultra/high mix at much higher res. than 1440p.
