Regarding time of day issues, I had a thought about this in another related thread:
Part of the reason this whole career mode thing is so kludgy is that the flights are set to a fixed time. That forces us to use the poorly implemented (and fairly hidden) weather UI, and to scramble to find runway lighting info. They should just let us pick the time of the flight. Heck, just give us a mission - here’s the cargo or pax that needs to go from this airport to that. You pick the airplane and time.
Maybe make a penalty if the plane can’t take the full cargo, or a bonus if it arrives within a certain time window. Like, the flight is generated for a 1900 departure, 2 hour flight - the bonuses start to diminish or expire for every hour away from the 1900 departure and 2100 arrival time, but you can theoretically pick whatever time you want. This could also integrate with the diversion concept. You could “pause” the flight by diverting, but you lose the bonus (and have to pay fees for overnighting, etc). Which is fine, you still get the full amount of the contract for completion. Sometimes a bonus isn’t worth it, right?
Yeah, I do the occasional VIP charter with the cj4 in Europe. Bought a King Air for my charter company last week but haven’t been able to use it for any VIP mission anywhere. When I come into the sim each day I always have revenue generated from it (crew setting on), but I can never use it.
Mostly been flying the pc12 in the US for medium cargo hauls. I can often net 1M+ cr. Currently saving for a twin turbo for cargo. Thinking about the Saab. I don’t want to buy it though (it’s being offered for sale for cargo company use) to find out I can’t use it, like the King Air for VIP.
Can someone pleas help me. I have MSFS for 1 month already, and the career mode will not progress past the point of adding your location hub. I am on Windows 11. Thank you.
Do you prefer the PC12 vs the C208? Currently grinding in the Vision Jet to purchase a medium cargo. Personally I prefer low wing aircraft, however, lack of Garmin avionics is a negative given I have 2x Physical G1000 sim units.
Have the say the PC12 since I don’t have the Caravan (or have even flown it in free flight).
Think I’m gonna give career mode a rest for a while. Last couple of hauls I’ve been getting major docked for bs due to the well-known myriad of riff-raff “bugs”. Tough to even find a mission sometimes with a reasonable length unobstructed destination runway. Departure airport too, actually. Had a reputation level of mid “S”. Now at a high “B” due to garbage bugs and first aircraft crash (in the Pilatus, medium cargo). I was on a perfectly normal approach, 600’ AGL and wham… crashed for no apparent reason.
Stay at 20K ft or below, its really not that hard. The Caravan flies like an utter POS. It’s just sad that it will not be addressed until SU2 at the earliest.
The cabin pressurisation system simply hasn’t been implemented. So if you fly above 14,000ft after a time you get a hypoxia warning and if you don’t descend your mission will end!
This is unfortunate as flying at the lower altitudes is very fuel-inefficient, which as employee missions don’t let the PIC set their fuel, means it can be really tough to complete some of the longer missions. You either run our of O2 or fuel. Take your pick!
And its a shame, because along with the Vision Jet I think the PC-12 is one of the better implemented aircraft in Career mode. I assume the CJ4 will be excellent, but yet to get a mission for one of them.
You are plain wrong there. I have flown over 400 missions in the PC-12 between 11K and 20K feet. The majority at 17K ft. I have had zero issues until crossing 20kt feet. Might want to go back and give it a another try.
I’ve not tested it all altitudes, but the consensus on the PC-12 thread was 14K was the threshold. Maybe report your findings there? {and please, no need to be rude about it]
Well, I as well as many others would say they are full of…you know what. So many are complaining about things they have zero knowledge of in 2024. It is a shame.
You also get a pretty good fuel burn at 17K. That is why it is my go to altitude.
Could it be that it’s been some time since you checked that thread (I assume you mean this one: PC12 Pressurization/Oxygen System Broken )? FL140 is only mentioned once back in December with the info that it’s safe, but not necessarily the upper limit. Findings after that date (including confirmation by myself) show FL200 as where the problem starts, I could cruise at FL198 (yes, one niner EIGHT) without problems (but that could change depending on air pressure, so you should stick to max FL190).
So can someone point me in the right direction here. On a 6hr 30min caravan medivac mission when stabilised at 12000ft cruise, I hit ALT+N skip to descent. It loads for a while with a black screen then I get a mission failed before I even get spawned into the start of descent. I also take a rep hit. What’s that about? I even turned Turbulence down from realistic to medium in the sim.
