Maybe it’s a bug?
You can go into the flight plan before you accept the mission and adjust the cruising altitude and send to ATC. Saved me a ton of time…
Well, the current limit of my frustrations is being docked 15%, on a helo search and rescue mission, for apparently flying into one of the whispiest and near-on-invisible clouds you’d probably never see.
“Flying in a cloud” is not one I’ve seen before, but I guess there’s worse things that could happen. ![]()
most likely a cheater. there are cheats that open steam achievements… I do not know why this is necessary…
I was penalised for ‘Overflying’ the airport I was taking off from… ![]()
10 minutes or so after leaving the airspace?
And repeatedly get it until you find the nearest airport and announce you’re flying over their airport?
It does seem like an odd one, especially without any obvious way to avoid it, that’s for sure.
I stumped up 3.6 million for the Heart Electric Plane…
Loaded up, automatically skipped me to Taxi and then crashed itself ![]()
Fair to say - Don’t try it. That’s 2 days credits grinding wasted.
10 minutes or so after leaving the airspace?
Before I’d even finished leaving the runway I was lifting off from.
Thank you for saving my controller, I would’ve thrown it at a wall for sure lmao. Do we just wait for a few months for them to figure out the insane amount of bugs this stupid game has? I stopped caring about my reputation because I’m constantly getting dinged because of all the bugs.
For the time being, I guess I will just keep playing medium cargo missions since they make over 500K per mission with skipping the taxi and cruising parts. Have you started a Medevac company by chance? if so, how are the payouts?
Why does it feel like we are actually going backwards with 2024.
Because we are, until they turn it around.
I’ve done both - I was doing Medium Cargo Hauling with the Caravan before I upgraded to the Heart, before downgrading to the Cirrus when it crashed ![]()
Medium Cargo Hauling definitely pays more. Do you really get 500k with skipping the cruise, or do you just use sim rate?
The Career mode can’t handle different routing solutions either. “Fly to WAYPT” requires you to physically fly over the designated waypoint. If there is a sharp turn for example, and the flight path curves before you physically reach the waypoint then it doesn’t count, even though the flight plan was generated by the game. I had to turn back one time because the flight path turned around after takeoff and the first waypoint therefore was not flown over.
I think the best solution would be to have no “mission steps” at all. Go from A to B, take care of the aircraft, that’s it. There are just too many restrictions programmed into the mission system and they are all wrong.
I had a B reputation but the scientific research mission really dinged me. Too windy to keep stable.
I was also using the Caravan at first but that thing is not fun to fly and the landing is terrible because it will over-rev if you try to set to idle on landings which is a recipe for disaster on short runways which seems to be the only runways they land me on the western part of the U.S and using reverse thrust on that plane doesn’t work properly. I would try to go back to forward thurst after the plane stops but it would not work and the plane would start moving in reverse and guess what happens when you brake? it tips over since there are no wheels in the back…
I eventually was able to save enough to buy a new Pilatus PC-12 and that’s so much easier and more fun to fly.
The range of credits I make is 400-600k, that’s why i said 500k was the average. I try to pick the longer missions and I almost always get extra money for bad weather which is normally like 150k. I don’t use sim rate, I also modify the curising altitude so I’m not spending 20 minutes trying to get to the insane and random cruising altitudes ATC sets for you…
What part of the world are you doing the cargo missions in? Sorry for the book I just wrote, I didn’t realize how much I wrote until I was done typing…

The main issue is that the throttle axis do not permit you to switch to other ranges (Beta, reverse) on the 208 for now, actually opened a bug report in the hardware part of the bug reporting section :

You know, I got the impression that they only tested the first missions. The further up the career ladder I go, the more bugs there are.
At first, I liked everything. The first bug was the tornado mission. Then the VIP mission started to crash… Today, for the first time, I tried to complete a passenger mission on a 737 aircraft. My rating was -38%. ATC has gone crazy.
Personally, I like the idea of a career. I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time. I have been at MSFS since 1998. I’ve used every possible career application. A career in FS24 gives the feeling that this mode was done by amateurs… It’s a great idea. But how it is implemented… ![]()
I try to be optimistic. And sooner or later get a working version of FS24
That’s really good input. I think I’ll try saving for the PC-12 next then and give it a go. Thanks!
I’ve been doing mostly south America with the cargo missions, which provides an extra challenge when ATC want me to fly directly into the mountains.
Now the simulator CTD’d at the moment of touchdown at LOWZ. So yes, it’s completely broken.
That’s really interesting - I had the exact same CTD at LOWZ today. I think maybe its an airport specific thing - Happened as the wheels touched the ground
Edit - It goes without saying that I was deducted credits for the airplane move, but the mission has now disappeared ![]()
Yes, exactly. Touchdown, freeze and CTD.
