I have had this happen so many times now. I leave the ATC window open when on final in case it swaps runways so I can quickly change and correct it.
It appears to me that it is something in the mission logic that is performing the runway swap.

I’ve experienced the same problem and have been using the same workaround of choosing the runway in the ATC window and making the On Final call manually.
I had this same scenario of it switching runways on me on short final on 2 of the 4 missions I flew today. I never even thought of using the ATC window to correct it. Thanks for the tip!
Agreed, thanks for the recommendation @CharlieFox00 @BoboSkypark @YggBjorn . I’ll give that a shot next time.
Unrelated — I did have a great start to finish mission experience this afternoon. Departure and destination airports both had IFR procedures* that led to turn-twisting a DME Arc SID** through solid IMC from 1,000-10,000ft and then descending an approach through a 2000 ft ceiling into 2 nm visibility. Negotiating the approach with game ATC semi-worked — had to switch the planned VOR approach to RNAV at TOD — which was non-negotiable, fine. But ATC did relent & let me switch to a less ridiculous transition on the new approach. Problem was that clearance was not granted to descend per the approach & I didn’t want to dive-bomb on final. So I disregarded the altitude complaints and wound up with a big 50%+ hit to Airline Procedures. Oh well. At least the start-to-finish, uncancelled IFR flight plan didn’t bait & switch the runway on short final.
/* Because single engine IFR flying is the smart move.
/** And because flying a DME Arc in a 172 is a restful exercise.
I’ve been saving up for my first С208 for several days. And here is the first flight. And on the descent, 1 km to the runway, they just wrote to me that my plane had crashed. On the glide path. Smoothly. It just crashed. Why? They didn’t write to me. I lost a lot of money once again. (imagine that I swear with the dirtiest words). I really love this game.
I was flying SAR missions with Draco, to no success. When mission started, the plane was 100% thrust without brakes so when cutscene ended I was in the middle of the field away from the airfield
I tried Zlin in free flight and OMG SAR is so much better now. That half plane half glider makes it easy to land and taxi to the cars. It’s cool to fly. Honestly, one of the best experiences so far in the game ![]()
The Draco X is a neat plane, but I don’t think it has a place in Career Mode. The original Draco was made to compete in STOL competitions.
I agree. I was really surprised to see it there.
It’s not a practical aircraft, at all.
I had a CTD in Career just now when trying to transfer an aircraft. I selected the menu since it wasn’t the closest and when I clicked on my plane POOF!!
After the last update, career mode got worst. It is totally lost at least on long missions. It misses your location, do not detect correct altitude and on the last mission, I landed in the correct airport, had to take off again just to cross some crazy waypoints so it could detect the completion. Other bugs appeared too, like suddenly putting you back to track without need, not to mention the erratic tracks presented, some disappear and never come back, others keep changing.
Its disappointing since it was working better than now before the update.
After the update I had for the first time CTD in missions.
First I deleted the 3d caches and the error happened again so I just reinstalled the graphics driver again and it seems fixed, flown many missions.
Bought a caravan for the better money missions…its wild. Swaying all over the shop and up and down like its a boat in a storm on AP with 0 or 1kt wind, the wheel to change the VS doesn’t switch the tooltipto kt speed when in FLC mode, the engine wont go to 0% even though throttle is pulled right back.
I’ve never put a plane onto Crew: On so fast.
I’ll go back to my lovely Vision Jet even though it seems limited to ~300km missions even though its range is posted as 2500km.
Not sure what plane to save for next. Its a choice between the cessna jet, a king air, a tbm, or maybe a pilatus but I tried the PC 12 and the avionics confused me. The G3000 in the vision is wonderful.
Can anyone tell what is the typical amount of cash that a 208 brings in when the crew is active? Is it worth to have 208 for passive income?
I’m thinking about buying one or two more 208 for passive income, since I currently fly my 208 myself and get around 900.000 credits per tour. I wonder I would get when the crew is flying one.
Roughly 30K credits per hour. Passive payout system kinda sucks its per aircraft type. Nothing to do with mission or cargo. Better off buying more 172s.
Funnily enough the 208 is currently an A-tier plane for passive income, because while it does earn almost 2,5 times per minute than the 172 in cargo companies, it costs 7,55 times more.
Pure meta S-tier seems to be a Flightseeing Optica, then the 172 in all kinds of companies. ES-30 makes more money than the 208, but has a prohibitive cost, and the PC-12 is completely unbalanced and not worth it at all
Jup same here
.
It’s just no fun doing these missions and getting fined for god knows what. I would prefer doing these missions outside career mode without any score.
PC-12 is however, IMHO well worth it if you are flying it.
That is assuming you won’t get hit by no-passive-income issues ![]()
The opening 60 seconds of every flight:
Me: “Request VFR flight following”
ATC: “Squawk”
Me: squawks
ATC: “Radar contact, altimeter”
Me: “Ok, actually I’d like IFR”
ATC: “/sigh, squawk same again. Cleared to blah blah blah blah blah blah blah”
Me: “Again? ok” squawks “Cleared to blah blah blah blah blah blah”
ATC: “Readback correct. Radar contact again, same altimeter again, do this and that”
Me: “Doing this and that… oooh yeeaaah, and I’d like to cancel IFR”.
ATC: …fml
I flew a couple more career flights today and noticed it was having me stop on the correct side of hold short lines after exiting the runway. Did they actually fix that, or was it possibly just because I was flying the Vision jet at more developed airports?
