2024 still a disappointment!

You are absolutely right. All people are different. Some people like swimming in dirt, some people enjoy pain. Some people love buying raw product and play with bugs. Who we are to judge them?

I gave up, I didn’t launch FS24 for the last few months and I am happy with that because every time when I wanted to enjoy it I left it with a disappointment. Sometimes bugs didn’t let me fly and destroyed all the experience, sometimes sim simply crashed…

I know that now, after more than half a year, everything is the same. Probably some bugs solved, a bunch of new bugs added. I will wait for another few months or a year and try again. Lesson learned, Flight Sim lost the quality we all used to expect. I don’t want to be beta tester, I paid for something different.

But I will repeat again: if people enjoy this mess I am sincerely happy for them.

Well, i must say was very happy with flying in SU2 the last weeks.

So i gave it a new try and spend more time in 24. I had setup my Bindings for the Fenix, the Aerostar, the new Mh-60 or many other keybinds that are important for the entire sim.
A lot of work, but it’s worth doing everything right once.

-until then everything is fine.

Today, no update, just startet the sim. All settings have been deleted over night, hours of Hardware Bindings for many complex 3rd party Aircraft are gone.

I am not on any beta or so, it just resets all settings except of the custom Character and graphic settings.

Its began with i have to login again to my XBox Account, then the basic setup progress as its the first time i startet the sim ever.

Thank you Asobo for this great Experience. I spent a lot of time and money for it the last years (flying arround since MSFS 98 and i had them all after , yes i am old).

I have to agree sadly, that this Product isnt a serious Simulation at this time. Its just a weak Game in this state, not more.

I know you working hard to improve it and many things going better, but such bugs shouldn´t happen so many months after release!

PLEASE JUST GIVE US AT LEAST A SAFE LOCATION FOR OUR SETTINGS ON OUR COMPUTER!

The current situation of this “Cloud-Gaming Solution” is not out of your abilities, it is

your decition and you should rethink this for your long-therm customers.

Now, i really don´t have the duration to fight against this compromise between all the platforms again and again.

I have paid very much money for a product wich is in this state, nearing 1 year after Release!

What a pity for the wasted time to go through all the settings every time you changed something in the background to break something

on the other end…

Please let me know if you will fix the very basics sometime and it is worth to spend more time to try again configure my settings.

Until then, i revert to 2020 and stop buying 24-native or Marketplace content for now.

This is my opinion and of course it should go without saying that such errors will be corrected in the first few months.

thanks

I am in the SU3 Beta and we now have the ability to export and import control profiles locally to wherever we want. I have not tried it but the option is there. As you can see I have a simple joystick but I have not lost my settings in the beta.

That sounds great, i will give it a try when SU3 is out. I thought this bug should have been resolved in SU1.

You say “everything is the same,” but that’s simply not true. SU1, SU2, and now SU3 beta have each brought measurable improvements.

Of course it changed a lot since launch. Some major bugs were fixed, a lot of things reworked, etc… I wanted to say it’s still a raw product with a lot of new bugs, with a lot of things that “will be available in future updates” and overall quality of the product is still far from good. It’s “acceptable” now. Free flight is almost free of major bugs and it is good. But “world photographer”, “career” and other activities are still options better to avoid if you want to save your nerves and sanity.

For me the MSFS 2024 disaster continues. Asobo alone is responsible for that. Also the SU3 is unknown when published. I thaught when buying the MSFS2024 that Asobo has learned from the MSFS2020 and I believed in their advertisement for MSFS 2024. But in the end they made it even worse from the beginning. For me Asobo stands for worse performance and frustration. For me they didn’t take their responsibility to explain why they performed so worse again. For me this means that I won’t buy anything from Asobo again and hope that they never work on a flight simulator in the future again. What is your conclusion of the performance of Asobo?

Stop lying to yourself, you will still buy msfs2028

They better not do another one so soon. 2030 maybe. And that thing better work and run well on my 7090 and have better VR optimization!

For me, MSFS 2024 runs at 80 to 120 fps in TAA and ultra without any CTD.

My personal conclusion is that it’s not a disaster at all.

All I can say is the latest SU3 beta build, including all the bug fixes since the first SU3 beta build, is giving me a good experience. I don’t use career mode or VR and I have been experiencing good FPS.

I think the biggest issue is stutters when landing. Hopefully that will be fixed before SU3 Final, and I am looking forward to SU4 beta.

I’m really looking forward to the Jurassic Park expansion pack. That’ll include all the bug fixes that the team has been working on, plus I can crash my PC-12 into a Brontosaurus (because if I fly any higher I die of hypoxia due to the broken pressurization model).

There is a fix for that on flightsim.to. I’m not discounting the fact that Asobo needs to fix it but you could try the tempory fix then maybe you will feel better. :slightly_smiling_face:

Your 7090 will be outdated by then

I probably will but not the premium deluxe and I’ll wait until all 3rd party aircraft are working. Many 3rd party add-ons are still not available in FS2024, yeah at own risk and then you’re told after a CTD it was probably your graphics driver.

Why? 5090 in 2025, 6090 in 2027, 7090 in 2029. So would still be the strongest card in 2030 unless Nvidia changes their rhythm

Is it not funny (in a very sad way) that this bug was fixed (with a workaround) by the community, in a few weeks, and almost 1 year later Asobo has not managed to fix it officially?

This is no super complex VRAM bug, how is this acceptable?

Even more funny? They marked this very bug as fixed in basically every update since release, without actually fixing it. Will it be fixed-not-really-fixed again in SU3?

So glad I got a refund on day 1. I knew it was going to be a disaster and didn’t want to be Asobo’s unpaid beta tester. May come back in a year when it’s out of Beta but only on Gamepass so i can get a refund again if it’s still the flop that it is.

If you read the room in the beta 3 section, the vibe has become much more positive since the latest release (.23).
