2024 still a disappointment!

If it’s not in the release notes of all the betas we had, I wouldn’t count on it.

I gave MSFS 2024 a try over the last few weeks, and I have to say — performance-wise it’s definitely a step up. My offline ATC - FSHud works just fine, and it handles all traffic sources without issues.

But the big blocker for me right now is the lack of PMDG 737. That’s my go-to aircraft for IFR flying, and without it… well, it’s hard to fully switch. So for now I’ve gone back to MSFS 2020 for serious IFR flights.

That said — MSFS 2024 is absolutely amazing for GA flying. The new atmospherics and lighting really shine when you’re low and slow. So I’ve kind of split it: GA in 2024, IFR in 2020.

Also, I’ve always been more of a Boeing guy, but I’ve been watching some Fenix A320 videos — and since it’s already MSFS 2024-ready, I’m honestly tempted to give it a try soon.

Hopefully by the end of the year things will be more unified — one sim, all aircraft.

Bottom line: This sim should have never been released for public sale with all the bugs in it. I’ll bet that most developers have no experience in aviation. Me: 35 years in aviation.

Currently 2024 has too many CTD issues to be a good move from 2020.

In real life for travel I’m not a fan of Airbus, although I did a factory tour in Hamburg years ago, however for the sim especially after the Fenix BFU it’s great. It brought me back to FS2024 and every single flight has been amazing. I also wait for the 737 but if you think of trying the Fenix now is the time. For now I keep FS2020 installed for the Bluebird 757  I hope it won’t take another half year for them to get it in FS2024.

I agree with you. But I’m past that and as I have said many times I am looking forward to the future of progress of the sim and I don’t dwell on the release.

That may be true. I can’t comment on that because I don’t know. But I do know there are real life pilots on this forum providing constructive input to help out with aircraft improvements. Does Working Title have RLP’s working with them?

Thing is we can’t change the past. Arrow of time and all that. Complaining now is just echoing all the complaints of others who beat you to it. We all know FS24 wasn’t ready.

SU3 beta 21 is in pretty good shape for most people. We would be more productive filing tickets on remaining issues in FS24 and working on things we can change/help/make better.

But actual pilots and those with aviation interests would always be good to have as consultants, beta testers, etc. There are all sorts of things that fall on beta testers to spot plus the devs themselves are very busy.

It sounds like you may be a pilot or experienced in technical details in aviation. Maybe you can become a beta tester for a dev house or file tickets here for things you find in the stock aircraft? It all helps get more accurate and faithful reproductions into the virtual world. You’d be surprised - or maybe you wouldn’t - how many things can have technical flaws just because the devs who know better miss something small at 1 or 2 AM under a deadline when dead tired and bleary-eyed.

Anything you find with aircraft, report it to the devs and you might find yourself being asked if you want to beta test formally. Beta testers are kind of unsung heroes that keep most of the obvious stuff from making it to the release. You can be part of the solution. :+1:

Bottom line for myself….This sim works great and I love it. There are probably bugs that we both experience and others you may have that I do not. A bit selfish to state the sim should not have been released. Very enjoyable from my seat. I also have 35 years in aviation as a pilot.

Equally selfish to accept a broken game.

I have zero years in aviation, but I look good in a suit.

Depends on your hardware or addons. I suspect more of the latter. I never have CTD’s. I’m quite happy with the core sim. I’m just unhappy so many of the Aviator Ed planes don’t work well.

I can’t see it being selfish to accept anything. It’s just a personal choice.

You like to think that msfs 2024 is responsible for all CTDs but no, most CTDs are caused by bad graphics drivers. Look at the threads that talk about new driver releases and the number of people who report these CTDs.

Another part of CTDs are caused by buggy add-ons.

With all due respect, I have to disagree. The majority of CTDs after the SU2 update in MSFS 2024 are caused by the sim itself, not by graphics drivers. The thread you linked is about NVIDIA drivers, but CTDs are also mentioned in that thread and they mostly refer to CTD during loading MSFS 2020, not 2024.

Since I started testing MSFS 2024 SU3 beta, I haven’t experienced a single CTD and that should be good news for all of us

I AGREE I Did That

Not done a lot of testing, but I had been in SU3 beta from the start and although I didn’t get to test every su3 beta update I didn’t get a single ctd, I went back to SU2 the other day, and got one ctd while in the sim menus, this is on PC though. SU3 certainly seems stable in that regard.

The Su3 beta seems to work fine for me on Xbox Series X using the airliners like the Inibuilds A350. The only issue I have is stutters at the arrival airports.

Honestly even with all the bugs I’m happy with it, and Asobo and third party devs appear to be making good progress, albeit slow, with them. I personally don’t use career mode and haven’t touched it so I think I’ve avoided most of the issues in the game.

Not true, or we’d all have had them.

Nope mate

IMO, the most selfish thing anyone can do is to be vindictive towards others enjoying the sim. And I do not consider myself or others to be selfish for accepting the sim in it’s current state.

How about a mood change? Try being supportive and happy for those enjoying the sim instead of making snide comments towards those of us that are having good experiences.

I realize not everyone is having good experiences and I feel for them. For those people I am hoping Asobo will fix the performance issues, or at least make performance improvements, before SU3 Final is released.

Have to agree. We’re at SU2 not SU 16 with respect to MSFS 2024. There are many reporting CTDs with 2024. A search can yield that.
