Guys, do you remember when I found the cause of the CTD in MSFS 2020 during loading when the NVIDIA app was installed? I’m sure many of you do.
Well, after 6 months, NVIDIA developers have finally fixed it. Now, with the NVIDIA app installed and using DX11 in MSFS 2020, there are no more CTD during loading.
Six months and what a joy it is So make sure to grab driver version 580.88 - it’s a crucial one for us.
I’m using an old driver because the new driver doesn’t have filters. Has anyone reported the filter issue to Nvidia or where should I send a bug ticket?
Perhaps the filter fans might start a new thread to keep track of things filters? It appear to be a trend over the past few months that folks are reporting filters missing from the drivers. Then folks could share out there any progress in communications with NVIDIA about bringing them back? The advantage of a new threat is that it will persist over time as the new driver release come and go. Thoughts?
I’ve submitted feedback to Nvidia on every driver released since 566.36 (the one I use if I want the filters) and have mentioned it on their forums also. Not one reposnse so far.
Been running the 580.88 driver for the last hour in SU3 beta and it’s working well for me so far. Can’t see any differences from 577.00, but apart from the lack of filters it’s a keeper for me.
Spread the word guys. I mentioned here about Message Signaled Interrupts (MSI) before. It is finally enabled by 580.88 driver for all 9 10 16 20 30 40 series now (may also enable MSI for audio driver). May help some of issues with these GPUs. You can check MSI by manual method or 2 programs i posted. For 50 series, MSI was enabled by default since release with all drivers if i am not wrong, but you can also check MSI for them.
585 branch will come near october/nov. 590 will be a big jump, with GSP Firmware enabled(hopefully), near jan/feb 2026. 40 series Smooth Motion may come with 585 branch.
Edit:
50 series, Forced Anisotropic Filtering
50 series, Forced Anisotropic filtering
Full Discussion here (workarounds listed there)(may cause blury image on MSFS/MSFS2024 when AFx16 is forced through NCP, NPI. Use ingame AF, or use x8 or below when forcing, check General summary section for details)
That doesn’t answer the question at all, unless the info is really poorly worded. All it says is “best gaming experience”. It doesn’t say it enables native DLSS4 support for the first time, if that’s what you’re implying.
No I did not imply that it enables native DLSS4 support. I just highlighted that the release notes implied SOMETHING had changed for MSFS 2024 as opposed to the comment that nothing had changed. For whatever that is worth.
