Please use this thread for feedback and discussion. Thank you!

I want all the Local Legends and Famos Flyers I owned back in MSFS 2024, working as they more or less did in MSFS 2020, before I even think about buying any more.

And especially Mriya.

When will the marketplace on ps5 be filled with items? Right now it is empty (only stuff, that is included we already own by the bigger game versions). Thus we can not participate in the promoted spring sale on items, which is not fair.

If they can keep the pace set with AAU4 and update 5 of those aircraft with each Sim Update, they may all be complete by mid/late-2027. We’ll see.

And then 2028 is not far……

Personally, I do not anticipate a MSFS 2028 - and that’s a good thing (I think).

I may be naïve, but I am taking the team at their word that their intention is to build a platform that’s agile enough to be sustainable for longer than 4 years. That was the intent of 2020, but the local storage requirement and core engine design around multithreading significantly blocked further progress.

Theoretically, MSFS 2024 may be the platform for quite a while. Of course, there could always be some other reason they need to start over - and that very well could always be “because corporate said we need a new title to justify our existence.” But like I said, I am (potentially naïvely) optimistic that 2024 is our platform for the foreseeable future.

The Famos Flyer and Local Legends program needs to become sustainable, or it needs to be ended now. I loved several of the planes, and one in particular held a special place in my heart—the one that has to die multiple deaths, both in real life and in the sim. It doesn’t make sense to keep creating new teams only to have them disband. The simulator constantly needs updates, and so do the FF and LLs. It’s now essential to assemble new teams to finally bring the Aviators Edition to the sim after a year and a half, as promised from day one, instead of constantly hiring new teams for more FF/LLs.

It’s fine if no new aircraft are released for Microsoft until the old ones are back. Furthermore, I can do without seeing so little love and care poured into some of the most beautiful FF/LLs just to release them quickly and cheaply.

Ultimately, nobody needs this program because it’s not sustainable.

Careful to not speak for everyone - there are many users for which the current quality of Famous Flyers and Local Legends is more than adequate. I don’t disagree that I wish they were better cared for or more deeply simulated from the onset, but given their price, I think most meet or exceed my expectations, personally.

but not if they are no longer there/unflyable

Which one of our forum moderators demonstrated by a thorough exploration of every Aviator Edition aircraft that all but, I believe one (maybe two?), are - by definition - flyable.

I bought them all, but none of them are in my hangar anymore because they are no longer compatible.

I’ve flown most of them without issue, and as that forum thread demonstrates, nearly all of them are compatible - just not 2024-native, which isn’t (in my mind) a reason to retire them from use.

Many are flyable, but they aren’t adapted to the new sim and all have minor and major problems, even just visually. Some have serious issues, and the Mriya, for example, is completely unflyable.

All aircraft are disabled.
And for good reason.

Again, this is subjective - as demonstrated by other users. The point is, the updates are being made - just requires patience.

You’re funny.
They should have been available from day one of the Aviators Edition’s release, not five of them after SU 5, a year and a half later. My point is, new resources are constantly being made available for more LL/FF, but in the end, there aren’t enough to fix the ones that are already there.

Yes, because new products generate revenue - free updates do not. Corporations have priorities, and as long as the updates are still planned and in progress, I’m happy.

From pre-release it was always publicly known that the Aviator aircraft would not be 2020-native at launch - in fact, it was initially said that the intent was to never update many, if not most of them, which has fortunately now changed course. If you still made the purchase with that information, that’s on you.

I agree, MS/Asobo needs to make an exception at the time they open the MP for PS5 and do special offers. It isn’t fair.
Have you submitted your questions for the next dev twitch stream yet? You could ask that question there. I have submitted mine so I can’t.

I’ve actually bought these more than once, first individually and then later the Limited Edition.

I’m happy with many things, but I still want to point out the problems that affect many people with my suggestion for improvement.
Have you really never wondered why the Aviators Edition was sold and, to my knowledge, is still being sold?
Correct me if I’m wrong.

This is a little too corporate boot-licky for my liking.

Saying MSFS 2020 aircraft would be compatible with MSFS 2024 to entice users to buy a higher tier of the product, and then when people complain that the aircraft are basically unusable compared to their 2020 counterparts, claiming “Well we never said they’d work well, just that they’d be able to get into the air”, is quite the insult to your consumer’s intelligence. And quite frankly it’s such a stretch, that I can’t think that you’re actually arguing in good faith.

It’s not “subjective”. Most of these aircraft are well below the bar that the industry would deem an acceptable product.

I can only speak from my own experience with Aviator Edition aircraft, which in 2024 has been mostly positive, and also pulling from the forum thread shared above where a moderator flew every one of them, having major issues only in one or two.
