I was trying to upload a video but I am sharing the link here from reddit as I could not do it directly from my mobile.
I was just playing around by running out of fuel and is amazing how the warnings hit so bad the performance of the 787. Not sure if that could be called stutter or something else.
In external view is reduced and after touchdown the stutter disappears.
memory issues for sure: after landing screens become black in the cockpit and at the exact same time the stutters disappear.
xbox series x or s?
i have terrible stutters too on XB SX when taxing / taking off/ landing, (also at default airports).
it has something to do with coding of wt aau2 EFIS suite, including FMS flight plan calculation/display (before that the 787 was yes simpler but as smooth as silk)
btw, this is a default aircraft and after aau2 on xbox it is hardly flyable.
i refuse to accept that Asobo/wt can t do anything to optimize it for consolesā¦ā¦.maybe creating a āliteā version like flightFX did with the Honda Jet?
The screens did not turn black. They simply went off cause my engines flamed out and so did my APU (out of fuel) it was running only on batteries. I have never faced screens blacking out.
The lagging in the B787X is really annoying. It seems like randomly dropping FPS to < 10 and I do not understand why. This screenshots were just taken after takeoff in Rhyad (OERK/33R) and fps started good at the parking position around 30 but dropped as I got closer to rwy 33R and then they stayed below 10 fps.
Why?
This is in the dessert with barely no scenery on the ground. We have clear skies with no clouds to render and not much of traffic either. Where is the problem??
I also noticed that it depends on the direction the camera is facing. If you look around the airplane or turn you plane on the taxiway / in the air you will notice that e.g. south is fine with the fps but if you turn east it suddenly drops.
After a day of failed flight attempts, I found that the stability test regime unusable in my Srs X for airliner flying into/out of add-on airports so i uninstalled it after leaving some BS/CTD data behind for analysis. The 787-10 seems most affected, however the 737-700 also took hits into known resource heavy airports. While nice to have contributed some data, gone back to enjoying Su13 which mostly works for my needs.
My flightplan was OERK/EGNT and again I had a CTD on cruise FL400 in the B787X while passing LOWW (Vienna, Austria). The central of europe has by far the worst performance in my experience. This is very sad as I most of the time wonāt make it through central europe - how can this not be addressed yet?
Apparently, this is a widespread problem with standard aircraft (third-party aircraft are suffering very little or very occasionally). Here, a friend recorded it, on his Xbox Series S, and itās quite sad that now he canāt even fly the F-18 anymore. This topic could be expanded further. I invite everyone to test the other standard aircraft in the simulator, especially the CJ4 and the F-18 and other aircraft.
XBox user x series. Just followed the fix provided by MSFS. This seems to delete all add ons. Did a test flight in the stock cessna and then the stock 747 from Farnborough to heathrow with a SID and an ILS approach. Programmed the FMC and Garmin from the world map. For the first time ever the vnav worked all the wayā¦and the localiser and glide slope locked on as they should. Yesterday it was unplayable. Recommend trying the XBox fix.
Flying inibuilds A310 and LVFR A319 on Xbox series X Can barely taxi round departure airport for the lag. Ok once in the air as far as I can tell but after a 2-3 hour flight it lags horribly on approach and sim almost grinds to a halt on the runway. The sim runs fine in exterior chase cam but in the cockpit itās hopeless
Have tried a complete reinstall (including resetting Xbox to factory and starting over) and that didnāt improve anything with all addons removed. Iāve been emailing Microsoft and they say they are aware of it and getting it fixed is #1 priority so hopefully they will get it sorted soon
Previous to the last update I could never get Vnav to follow the altitudes for all the waypoints. Lnav was fine. Vnav would give up after a few waypoints. The Garmin was fine. Then the update. First there was a stutter. Annoying. Then all navigation in the garmin and the 747 just became unreliableā¦to the point of not worth trying an IFR flight. Then on this forum MSFS posted a fix for the xbox. You lose all your add ons but I couldnāt find fault with tonights flights.
Xbox s. Ctd and blank avionics at some point during most flights. Signed up for the beta thing, sim now unplayable. Avionics blank in all aircraft i tried. On the few occasions they arenāt, its stutters so badly its unplayable. No 3rd party add ons installed. Msfs is now just expensive data clogging up my hard drive. Useless. Hpe a fix is closeā¦
This is why I havenāt signed up, I really want to help but so many have said that it drags performance down even worse. I think it only captures crashes anyway and Iāve not had that many since SU13 just the slide show frame rates and avionics cutting out (sometimes they come back, sometimes they donāt).
I did a 6 hour intercontinental flight with the 747 from SBRF to LPPT for testing purposes with the simulator without any addons and photogrammetry off (Xcloud)
Everything was perfect until the final. The stutters lasted more than 1 second and that was until the moment I cleared the runway and turned off the landing lights. Luckily I didnāt lose the avionics.
Is it related? I remember a bug related to lights causing a memory leak in the past. Maybe heās back?
Iāve already given up on the 747 and 787. I canāt fly these aircraft anymore. I donāt think itās lights, it could be something that happens when the simulator starts rendering the ground. The trigger is when the ground starts to render or not render.
I will be sad to know that a fix for this will only come in the next SU. Complicated.
