A2A Aerostar 600

Not only that, the 600 is an unpressurized fuselage. Maybe there’s an oxygen system?
AGL 200 isn’t really a pressure problem, but you definitely need oxygen.

Limiting to fs24 will surely affect the income of a2a I wonder when we will see fs2020 development announced :wink:

Not installed in the aircraft itself. Portable oxygen also isn’t simulated.

I don’t think there will be one.

Hi,

If there isn’t a 2020 version coming out, then it is a no go.

MSFS 2024 is still too flawed for me. I keep trying and trying but I get nothing but frustration…at least for the moment.

The ends must justify the means. I’m sure a company like A2A, who has been in the game for a while, has a good read on that.

Anyone knows which approach techniques are possible with a GTN, besides ILS ? Is RNAV with LPV minima possible ?
Thanks !

Yes it is (I use the TDS GTNXi).

They have just made an official profile for the Aerostar (AEST).

I have enough fleet to not bother with another dual AG. (even a2a) on my fs20 xbox, but the numbers speak for themself, like 2x more STEAM fliers on fs20 than fs24 (current data) , I can only presume the MS platform ratio is similar and consoles may be hugely in favour of fs20 (from autopsy fs24 dont run well on my xbox x)… Anyway still not my business :person_shrugging:, I hope I’m wrong for devs like these :crossed_fingers:

A user made an amazing checklist plus more for the Aerostar. Scroll to the bottom for the latest version of it.

Sweet! I was just going to plan an Aerostar flight. Thanks for the post.

Who is “they” and where do I find this profile? It is a Spad profile?

Done some flights. The most important A2A traits are there, the engines really feel alive and the hand-flying is very good, but I do agree that this is no longer enough to be the best with the current competition. It seems to lack in innovation and additional features.

That saying, there are a lot of ideas on how to improve/expand it on the A2A forums and the developers seem to be open, making it clear that they will try to introduce at least some of them and that this is one of the points of this early access - to see what people would like to see most.

I guess part of the feeling of it being too simple is that the original plane is also pretty bland. There is no necessary tank switching, no cowl flaps, no special startup procedure, no risk of damaging the non-existent turbo, no overheating of unique systems, no kinks that can kill you if you don’t watch out. I guess the original plane had some accidents with doors that were not closing correctly but here the process is automated, the blockades move by themselves, so you cannot even mess this one up.

It’s also pretty ugly with the current paintjob and interior colors, but might get better when we get more options.

When it comes to the sounds, I was not impressed in the beginning, but it seems like a lot of nuances appear if you turn the volume knob up more than in other planes, I’m learning to appreciate the fine details, but there is no WOW factor, more of an acquired taste. Maybe with the exception of the take-off roll, that really sounds crazy if you make the sim louder.

They’re moving forward, like many of us who are leaving FS2020 behind.

Simbrief profile.

They will make enough from 2024 users now and going forwards. No need to be backwards compatible.

Exactly how I feel about it. I have uninstalled it twice now. I tried again after the update. The problem is I fly this and try very hard to like it and then fly seemingly any other recent release straight afterwards and am nearly always struck by how much more of a wow factor they have.

I do wonder if this was by any other developer would we be takling about it very much at all?

I get it. Yet…

My Bonanza G36 Improvement Project has even less “WOW.”
And yet, it’s one of my favorite planes to just hop in and fly.

Granted the Aerostar 600 costs $50. I wonder whether the expectations (hope) for more “WOW” are related to that.
