[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

Wildly inaccurate

Been flying the iFly MAX for a bit while I wait for the BFU to finally arrive (if it ever will). One thing I noted is that the MAX is much more stable on the runway during takeoffs and landing. The Fenix seems to be “squirrely” with it’s ground handling. Anyone else feel this way?

OK, confusion here. hoping someone can help. Did a flight in the A321 all fine, but trying to use it again, and the EFB always thinks I’m “airborne” so says for example under ‘ground services’ that “This section can only be used while on the ground”. Well I am on the ground and parked at the gate.
Similarly a Simbrief import leads to it saying I’m airborne too.
Any ideas? It’s a fresh sim reboot so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Panel states don’t make a difference.
I’m using SU3 beta.

@FaultedBirch573 : According to real A320 pilots on YouTube, it’s indeed to squirrely compared to the real thing

@BragRaindrop: Have you tried to go into “Settings” on the EFB Main Page and reboot the EFB? If the issue persists, could you show us your switch positions after landing and parking?

Seems to have cleared itself now for some reason. Will keep in mind the option to reboot EFB though. Thanks.

Hi, looking for advice on the PCA.

As I understand there is no actual visual representation of it on the Fenix.

When I have it selected in the EFB it doesn’t cool the cabin, temperatures go up to 30 odd. Do I have to do something in the cockpit to make it actually work?

Thanks

The EFB button for PCA is broken, at least in FS2024. Use MCDU to turn PCA on/off.

Regarding the overly sensitive ground handling, has Fenix ever acknowledged this (I don’t do Discord, not sure if they post anything on that platform or not)? Speaking of posting, aside from the one message I saw that the BFU was going to be delayed, have they released any update on the status of this? Their original commitment back in March was that the BFU would be out “in the next couple of weeks”. I get that they tend to lag on things like this but given that they set the expectations originally, a periodic update or two would be appreciated.

No comment on the BFU for months. Since their last announcement I think there was a post somewhere saying it was now on “fenix time” so no clear release date but it’s now pushing 4 months.

I don’t find the ground handling particularly sensitive.. in what way?

Overly sensitive when taking off and landing. I tried adjusting the control responses, but it didn’t help.

Regarding the BFU, a bit annoyed at Fenix, they set the bar by stating “a few weeks” back in March and then pretty much say that we’ll get to it whenever we feel like it. I’m cognizant that this is pretty much a bonus update (and a free one at that) but it still would be appreciated if they would take a minute every now and then and simply provide a quick update on where things stand.

I find it sensitive on take off in particular, very difficult to keep to the centre line even in mild winds. I have read that they are improving the ground handling.

Their communication is poor I grant you, but their product is excellent.

If it’s not a big hit to your chequebook, get one or both of the FSLabs A321 CEO or NEO to tide you over, ground handling is supposedly quite realistic, and the systems are excellent, and IMO better than Fenix at the moment. I’m sure when the BFU comes, Fenix will regain its title of best Airbus in FS 2024, but right now IMO FSLabs is the frontrunner.

I have no problems and almost exclusively fly Fenix A320 for Airliner use. There are so many other individual variables that can impact.

I had a couple of flight with fenix A320 and no ctd also using gsx. Only an issue on A321 with Condor livery (fenix condor livery).

I might be wrong but I think they just don’t attend expos.

I checked my Navigraph hub today after a CTD and there was a new update for the Fenix. Flying well now. I’m holding off buying anything more from Fenix (have the A320) until there’s some news on the new update. Any news would be welcome.
