[A319, A320, A321] Fenix High-Fidelity Aircraft

Not specifically related to Fenix but last time I started the standard FS Cessna 172 and FSLTL I had a CTD.

Hello- was curious if the METAR information that we get off the EFB or FMC is pulled based on what time we have in the simulator… or is it always live time where we are flying regardless of the sim time we set?

Like if it is 8PM where I am flying in real life but I back the time up to 6AM that morning will the METAR info that fenix gets reflect what the METAR was at 6am or will it be 8pm still?

Thanks for any input!

It’s always the latest METAR the game could retrieve, so changing the time in-game doesn’t change the METAR data you receive

Exciting stuff!

The BFU introduces an option to get the METAR from the sim, rather than externally as now.

Everyone, you need to watch the YouTube just posted by Fenix about the new BFU. It’s very detailed and is incredible to see the new features, rewritten code explanations and animations coming with this update (spoiler: the gear bay modelling and animations is fantastic). Plus a new a319 sharklet model with bespoke engines and flight model. A ton of updates all for free….wow.

So much detail, never cared about the outside but now I might spent countless hours opening cargo doors and operating all kind of switches I never knew existed, inspecting the fan blades, walking up and down the stairs. Great work!

… and all of that in a free update! I will definitely buy the expansion pack now to support the developers.

The great thing with Fenix or specifically this update it feels like I’m getting a totally new airplane. I wouldn’t mind having to pay extra but as you say I will also buy the Neo or whatever is next. Worth every penny.

Yup, if the performance is Ok, i will do the same and buy the expansion pack to be grateful with this wonderfull team !

The most important thing remains unclear. Will we be able to turn off the “COMPANY MSG” ? It could be only this change and the flare landing changes and I would be happy

I’m hoping for those with 2024 the new LODs will help immensely with performance.

A huge amount of work for free cannot be underestimated, gotta thank Aamir and the team for this.

Really like how these guys try so hard to push the envelope, innovate, and do new things. Just hope they are making $$$ so they can afford to continue to do such great work.

I would have gladly paid for this update and will certainly support them by buying the NEO (even though I/we have more A320s than I know what to do with) when it comes out.

If you watch the video at the end there is a huge scrolling changelog. One of the items is an option to disable ACARS messages such as delay codes etc.

I admit - I was getting a little frustrated by the very delayed BFU and lack of communication, but this is just WOW! I will be getting everything the Fenix team puts out, that’s for sure. Top notch devs :ok_hand:

Thanks, saw the part of the video, but couldn’t read fast enough, That’s great!

Simply amazing how much these guys crammed into a free update (as compared to “Brand X” that would have assured made you pay for all this). It’s close to a brand new product. This is the start of FS2024 becoming the new standard for Fenix, while the old version simply can’t support a lot of the new features.

One (very, very minor) nitpick - I noted that when the aircraft is on external power, there is still a portable generator on the ramp next toit. I’m curious why it’s apparently impossible to have the power cable coming off the jetway, as is the case with 95% of the airports out there. Just looks a bit silly having a power cart always out there. I’m guessing this is more of an issue with the base sim than anything Fenix is doing but I’m just curious why this can’t be addressed by someone (Asobo, GSX or the sim developers).

Asobo should pay/thank them for helping to drive adoption of 2024! The more high quality addons that leverage 2024 only features, the stronger the adoption will be.
