Complete novice here seeking some guidance from great minds !
Just for fun, I have elevated myself from a single engine turbo prop to a320. Cant really get a handle on controlling the FBW joystick through my ‘black widow’ joystick/controller though.
I get the principle of the fbw joystick, that a small nudge does the job and then let it return to its central position and aircraft retains attitude until next input. However, the black widow controller returning to Center is not returning the sim joystick to centre, so my flights are a mass of oscillations (while I repeatedly overcompensate to try to ‘return’ sim controller to centre) until I eventually hit something .
Check the calibration of your blackwidow. On any peripheral device, neutral should be neutral no matter the aircraft.
Next, check your assigned axis for flight controls. Since the last update, there have been issues and some reassignments had to be done for some people.
Not sure I was explaining well tho. If I ‘let go’ of the be controller it physically returns to centre. But on screen the joystick/yoke doesn’t . This is okay for a yoke, you can see where it is and correct, but with joystick I can’t… and it’s more important of course
So, when the physical joystick (black widow in my case) springs to Center when I let go, the sim joystick/yoke should also spring to centre ? (It doesn’t)
I can see all the sensitivity stuff in fs2020 but can’t see any way to change that behaviour? Am
I missing something ?
