Aeroplane Heaven North American B-25J Mitchell

Thank you, that makes sense.

I’ve uploaded three paints, the RAAF and the RAF versions, and this one:

Usually I wait for Marketplace, but all these pictures are too exciting… Just bought on Orbx for a Sunday flight before the work week!

I’m enjoying this one! Two issues I noticed:

  1. Carb Heat levers aren’t working properly. Once they’re moved once, they can no longer be manipulated. However, clicking and using the mouse wheel does adjust carb heat, there’s just no visual way of telling whether they’re on or not.

  2. I don’t think the superchargers do anything, so hopefully that’ll be fixed in a future update since they work with the Lancaster as expected.

Very fun to fly and the visuals are great. I love the sounds too, I can hear a bit of popping when the engines are at idle.

EDIT: I just tried the Doolittle variant and was able to takeoff from a carrier! The fuel gauges weren’t working properly but otherwise it was fun

I noticed that the hydraulic pressure gauges don’t work. The manual didn’t have anything to say about it. Searching ā€œhydraulicā€ only yields one result, telling me that the gauges exist and where they are.

Would you consider a repaint of ā€žIn the Moodā€œ owned by the Klaers brothers and now based at Colorado Springs airport.

Plenty of pictures of her around, since she is quite a popular aircraft at air shows and of course part of the Klaers museum fleet there in CO.

I think i shared my relationship with her already, and would have done a repaint myself in earlier versions, but i can’t get grasp of the new paint structures and simply do not have the patience or eye sight anymore

maybe, although I’m more interested in WW2 aircraft over modern warbirds. I see the attraction, it’s just not mine.

Meanwhile, I uploaded these:

FlightFX posted this video about the B-25 on his Flight Model Review YouTube channel. His commentary seems to suggest that he’s the author of the flight dynamics engine for the AH B-25 - which if true is a pretty good sign about the quality of the FDE. It makes the video less of a review than he sometimes produces. But there’s some interesting commentary about how to fly the aircraft - including pitch and power settings for an overweight takeoff and climb.

He also seems to say that he’s working on the Mosquito - which would also be good news.

Here’s a link… which for some reason takes you to a full-page thumbnail. Click on that and you’re at the video. Not sure why the extra step but it gets there eventually…

I might give it a go, if like you, I can manage to force myself to come to terms with the new structure.

I was going to wait a bit longer before buying the Mitchell, but with an update from Heaven out today and the fact that JanKees is turning out artwork for it faster than North American pumped out the actual aircraft in 1943..and since we already know the sound package is going to be upgraded…

Oo I didn’t see the update! Fingers crossed for those superchargers

Good news, everyone! Superchargers are operational, carb heat levers work as intended, and the aux fuel gauge is functional! Happy flying!

Very nice. Maybe you could do the RedBull livery?

Sorry, but no. I don’t like the drink itself, and I don’t like advertising for it.

I’m sure it will be popular, but someone else will have to do it.

I am working on this one though…

I support that notion. Liveries like that on vintage warbirds are defacement in my book.

If you would do it I would certainly appreciate it.

I did many of the paints on the Connie series and the gauge faces etc. Back in those days the file structure etc was quite a lot easier to comprehend i feel.

Any fix available for the clipping of the rudder pedals and the co-pilot nav radio?

Also gyro compass and clock are lit even when the battery switches are set to off.

Found this instructional video giving settings for take off, cruise and landings and also one engine out ops.
Found it interesting and helpful.
