What a terrible decision. This entire fiasco has turned me off from Aerosoft. I’ll happily continue flying the A330 Neo from Headwinds.
You should see Mathis’ thoughts via PMDG’s forums… even he thinks this was a very odd decision.
A little ironic
I agree - New flight deck for A330 would be awesome. Having said that there is some minor differences between the A330 neo and ceo versions of flight deck, So I think they have opted to use FBW A320 for time being. Who knows, maybe when A330 non neo releases they might put in their own flight deck as well. We also must consider that this a freeware project, Personally I would be happy to pay if they created everything from scratch.
Personal Comments and Observations
Please note the line above ^^ - I have no insider baseball on this.
Given the timing, it’s a good candidate for commissioning under MS for 2024. Note the spate of responses when viewers saw the new sim’s first trailer and the bevy of what appeared to be Third Party aircraft featured in it. When folks started asking those vendors “Hey are those your planes?” - to a firm all of them said no comment or quizzically, “no they’re not our planes” (paraphrased). They’re probably all under NDA or the contracts are still being hashed out.
Given this news, we’ll have to wait to the release of the (announced) FSLabs’ A330. I was one of the few people that still trusted in Aerosoft. They’ve lost all credibility for me now.
Welcome aboard. lol
" Following a thorough evaluation of the project, we have decided to shift the development and release of the A330 around the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This will allow us to greatly expand the focus of the project – including multiple engine options.
Additionally, we are planning to release both the CEO and NEO variants of the A330 simultaneously.
Once we have more details to share, we will update you via this page."
Applause Is it Hartmann who develop this plane ? so stay praying
Hans Hartmann is not connected with this project.

Indeed. I have nothing to do with it.

well it is true that there is already a lot of work to be done on the ATR to make it pilotable and reliable
As for the 330, we will happily do without Aerosoft. there are other products which are completely operational and also free
Indeed, they are too late with this.
well right now there are not many payware A330 in msfs. but if someone else comes earlier, they will eat their cake !
for what some paid software is worth we have freeware which more than holds up and if we have to have paid ones like the ATR or the CRJ I much prefer the free ones
apart from pmdg and fenix the quality is not there especially when they qualify these products as expert level when they are far from an a330 headwind or an FBW . what I question is not the products themselves (they are worth what they are worth) but this habit of taking the consumer for an idiot
I didn’t expect much from Aerosoft, their products are very average (and I’ve had a number of them) but when I see an announcement that development is stopping to resume it for FS2024, I roll on the floor of anger
I don’t think they’re stopping development. They just saw that they need a year or so more to finish it. A “FS 2024” release is just a nice coincidence and basically an easy PR friendly excuse.
The API’s for FS2024 have not been released and will not soon. FS2024 will support FS2020 airplanes. So they just keep building what they’ve been building.
It’s basically the same as they did with the CRJ which was a PR stunt. First complex aircraft to be released for FS2020. True, but they just abandoned it after a few updates.
Oh look, apparently now it IS still coming to 2020 after all!
I assume, no one knows inner working of MSFS 2024. That said, and with what transpired last few months, this reason doesn’t hold water for me at least.
At best they are struggling big time with the 330 to a point they cant reliably estimate the timelines or the company itself is seriously struggling.
Until I’ve seen A330 Driver on YouTube review this thing, my wallet shall remain closed.
Easy conclusion: they are sure MSFS 2024 will be released before the A330.
If they plan to release after FS2024, it will very possibly be a 2025 release. So at least you have time to save up!
