Started a flight from BDL to MIA. Less than 2 hours into flight, extreme drop in fps to a slide show. Terminated flight by going into Task Mgr. and ending process. Soooo disappointing.
What aircraft were you flying?
Flying Asobo A320. Have a medium high rig.. Problems started with SU7 which was how many months ago?
Some of you are extremely lucky you donāt get performance degradation anymore. For me, Issue is still present and prevents me from flying airliners in general. I have never used your controls. If only Asobo would have fixed this.
Still present for me as well, as it were for almost a year
Iām back and that will be my last screenshot test with dev mode activacted. SO, here are the screens with TLOD 400, OMDB-FACT, SALTY747, 9h20 flight time, live weather and trafic on, double screen at 1920x1080 each, chrome open with 25+ tabs open, navigraph charts opens too.
Cold and dark :
10 min after lauching the flight, at gate with committed ram (charge dƩdiƩe):
push, taxi and line up :
Climb over DubaĆÆ :
Over DXB, with committed ram :
2h50 flight time :
6h15 flight time, cockpit, outside and committed ram :
7h30 over Gaborone :
8h40 cockpit and outside view committed ram :
Approaching Cape Town :
Final approach, taxi and parking at gate :
So to me, no more slide show at flare even with TLOD at 400, so, nothing to do with TLOD.
I will try with FBW A320 but I can say that the sim is smooth again.
Rolling cache on another SSD, 200Gig, that may help. Or maybe, just because itās a RX6800 GPU.
Could be that youāre running an RX6800 at 1920x1080. Iām running an RX6700 at 4k. Please let me know how your FBW A320 testing with TLOD at 400 goes.
Have been playing at 60+ and 70+ for a few moths, with High and Ultra settings all across. After reinstalling the sim this week, I am now at 40+ with much lower settings. Reverting to higher settings like before, now puts me at 29 / 33 FPS. Sad. . . they keep breaking this sim. . . Do they know what they are doing at Asobo?
Iām using a laptop, i7-8750h 2.2 Ghz with GTX 1060 6GB. I started with 16GB ram, upgraded to 32GB which solved my issues.
I do still get random fps drops. I also get bad performance in PG areas but thatās on my weak hardware. The periodic stutters are weird. One of my recent flights I had the temp monitor running and you can see the CPU getting taxed periodically while in cruise.
It was just a short flight from Toronto to New York. No idea why CPU and GPU use vary so much.
I play at 1080p, mix of high and ultra settings, terrain detail 200. I generally get around 30 fps, plenty for me. But landing at 10fps isnāt great.
Alright so decided to venture myself in a 9h flight from LTFJ to CYHZ on the 787 (HD mod) and IVAO
ai tfc off, real weather real time, departed with 70FPS silky smooth, one hour into the flight Iām already seeing a significant performance drop down to 50FPS, still ok, at this very moment 2:30h into the flight Performance droped bellow 30FPS, sometimes diping bellow 20 with lots of crackling sounds
GPU usage started at 98% and it now going bellow 30% or less, classic presentation, Mainthread and CoherentGTUIThread are the ones going crazy this time
So please, Iām glad that a lot of people had this issue go away, but do not think this is resolved
8700K 32gb ram RTX 3090 LOD 130
Also Iām uploading the last 5 minutes here https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/MMf0V_g3OmE
Update: 3:12 hours into the flight it has come to this, Iām terminating it now for Iām surelly wonāt be able to finish it
Pardon my ignorance (Iām new here) but doesnāt Asobo give some sort of webcast every now and then where they go through what they working on? It would be great and reassuring if they acknowledged that they are actively working this.
Sadly not, they have not acknowledged it, they havenāt even talked about it. This major issue is completely ignored for long time.
Only thing is this issue made it to most voted 25 and was addressed as āunder investigationā but this does not mean anything.
Hi, I tried a flight with FBW A32NX and that aircraft need a lot of ressources. That can explain frame drop with that particular airplane. I use to have frame drop with all airplane 1 week ago. But right now, I wouldānt say itās frame drop but a spec limitation.
I keep the same settings as my last test, so with TLOD at 400.
At the beginning of the flight, i got only 40-45 someting FPS at UCFM (pretty easy scenery to draw).
At FL380, i only got 40-50 FPS.
At the end, I was at 20-30 at EDDP (handcraft airport). The important thing is to look at committed ram and GPU committed RAM.
Iām at 1080p and the sim required 23Gig of ram and more than 12Gig of VRAM. So people that try to play at 4K with TLOD 400 and ultra, try to lower your standard, really.
Cruising at FL380 over Russia :
Touchdown at EDDP
On runway at EDDP
I hope all these tests can help you @Hebrewbaum
We have to get this issue at the very top of the next Dev Q&A in my opinion.
My memories not serving me right now, have they ever said anything about this issue before?
No, this issue was never acknowledged, mind you, Iāve had this for almost a year just the same
I only got back into medium haul flying a few months ago so I havenāt noticed till then. Itās a real shame cause I love flying long flights on the VATSIM network especially when there is an event, but this issue really messes that up.
Indeed, Iām doing a tour on ivao right now, and the next couple of legs are long haus of over 3000nm longs, this bug makes it so that I simply cannot fly them, itās so infuriating not to hear anything from Asobo in so long regarding this
Absolutely. I could only imagine trying to do a trans oceanic flight at 10 FPS.
Sorry about your situation, hope they AT LEAST comment on this sooner than later.
Where do they post the schedules for the dev Q&Aās?
Also @Kidy973 really, really appreciate the testing and info. Iāll give reduced settings a try this weekend. However, that may only mask the problem. If Iām in 4k and TLOD 400 and I get 10 fps after 3 hours and restart and get back to 30, the issue is still there sadly. Maybe higher graphics create some sort of runaway memory condition that lower graphics do not.
Apparently they do them around times of major updates. Thereās not currently a set schedule.
