After playing a few hours, FPS drops from 40 to 5FPS

No, I done this already, I did every test in the book from every sim config to drivers to overclocks on or off to motherboard settings to bios versions, i’ve had it for many months, nothing affects it period, for some reason in the recents weeks more people started to be affected too (thankfuly for me), maybe now it gets a little more attention

Just keep voting people. We’re already up to 470. The more votes, the more attention.

Also to clarify my previous post, I was in the simulator for 2.5 hours but the flight was only 1.5 hours.

@PunchDkns99 what was your committed memory in windows resource monitor? I got up to 18 gigs after a 1.5 hour flight. I can’t say for sure since I haven’t read every single post in this thread but it seems like most people with this issue have 32 GB of ram. Would be interesting to see if someone with 64 gigs has this issue.

That doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem though…if you’re degrading performance and respawning in the same spot and going from 15 to 90 fps, clearly there are major issues with task/memory cleanup.

would venture to guess that most people don’t have a video card that they paid over 1000 dollars

Well yes that is the issue

I meant 32 vs 64 gigs of RAM, not VRAM.

Running gsync 1440p

Been having this problem since last night, is it something server side causing this you guys think?

No it’s not server related

So did you change anything since last night? If not it would eliminate all hardware related things.

So I think it’s save to say, for those affected, we have no clue if it is server related or not, or what is actually causing it

EDIT: to make it clear as this post is now used for the Q&A: I have not encountered any issues after turning off HDR and removing yourcontrols.

Or it could be multiple causes, some server-related and some not, that result in the same symptom. Only Asobo can know for sure unfortunately.

I’m curious though if anybody with 64 gigs of RAM gets these issues? If not it might be time to upgrade

Yes I had it also sinds yesterday it’s just worse now

No changes what so ever. Stress tested my PC + it’s running as normal in every other game. Multiple people reporting this since yesterday so that’s why I suspect it might be something server side.

My issue is also on landing, and I don’t get issues on descent either. Pretty similar to you

MY recent finding (1/14/2022)

With MSFS “ONLINE” and MP, AI Traffic, etc all on, I get a FPS drop over time (a few hours) – even quicker is I slew .

With MSFS “OFFINE”, I do NOT get this FPS decrease, even if I slew.

Got to be significant ?

How about just turn Photogrammetry off and see if you do not get FPS decreases?

same worries! ryzen 3900x 64gb ram rtx 3090 no overclocked only ram xmp 3200mhz

It a lot easier to have removed stuff to stop the FPS loss, and then add them back in, one at a time to see what causes the Loss. Starting from a state where I do not have loss, proves it is possible NOT to have the Loss.

But, this is NOT what I really what I want to be doing – Asobo’s work for them – for Free .. I purchased “Microsoft Flight Simulator” not “Microsoft APP Debug Simulator”

Just flew KDEN to KLGA. FPS was constant at 25-30 FPS the whole time (I’m very GPU limited, as I’m running an RX6700 XT in 4k). Main thread time when I landed was 38.5 ms. Respawning in the exact same spot, main thread timing back down to 24.0 ms.

Conditions: latest experimental A32NX, live weather, live traffic, TLOD 200, OLOD 100.

So something is most likely not being cleaned up properly in the main thread, is my conclusion. Also, when landing, I had 26 gigs of committed memory, then respawning, down to 23 gigs (not a huge difference). However that’s a pretty obscene amount of memory, so I’ll probably be upgrading from 32 GB to 64 GB :joy:
