Thank you for the breakdown! Oh i thought generic models should be off at all costs while using AIG. Interesting. Bummer that real-time traffic does not depart.
So i guess i’ll stick with S1 or…use S2 with generic models ON (even though i hate doing that because i also want to see other players liveries). Would that be correct?
That is correct. You can also use AIG models for multiplayer by turning on the use of generic models for multiplayer. You will see other players flying in AIG models.
If the other players would use GA you would see the generic Asobo models. You could fix that by setting all GA in your game (like the TBM) to be generic but you would still not see their individual liveries.
I also have ground traffic set to 15 which gives me a few GA aircraft at small airfields, and a few parked airliners and business jets at larger airports.
The airlines are random and not always appropriate to the location, but because I have the setting low there are not too many and it is better than having nothing at an arrival airport because AIGTC usually crashes near the end of my flights and it takes so long to reload I am usually landed and parked before it is up and running.
When ot happens for me usually there are lots of free gates, so I don’t think it’s a problem.
My guess is the jumping liveries problem is related to schedules. Probably there is some overlapping when the application tries to show planes from different time periods (schedules).
I read (in this thread i think) that if you set the traffic slider in AIGTC to 99% (if that didn’t work go down to 70%), it will stop the crashes. I currently have it set to 99%.
Yeah 15 seems like sensible compromise. I honestly rely on other players GA liveries (lol) for that since i mostly fly in reasonably “busy” and well known airports/airfields.
When downloading a/c liveries and flight plans using the AIG Manager app, I chose to point the app at an alternative to the FS2020 Community folder. Following this approach, the app automatically created a link to the “aig-aitraffic-oci-beta” folder. However, following a recent FS2020 reinstall, this link was removed by the installer. Although I still have all the liveries and flight plans in the alternative directory, I don’t know how to recreate the link in the Community folder required by the AIG Controller app. Would anybody be able to help and advise on how to do this? Many thanks.
Use the MKLINK command with the /D option to create a link to your alternate folder.
Example for MS Store version:
MKLINK /D “C:\Users\YOUR ACCOUNT NAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\” “D:\PATH TO YOUR FOLDER\aig-aitraffic-oci-beta\”
Notes:
Enclose full paths in quotes.
Ensure paths end with backslash character \
Don’t do this if you are unfamiliar with using the command line.
Use at your own risk. If it does not work don’t blame me
Hi, for my own I use RealTraffic(an equivalent to FlightRadar24) with PSXT injector and I use AIG and IVAO_X-CSL for liveries. And as I said, Tcas (with Flybywire exp mode) works well.
One of the FBW devs said this which clears up why there’s no AIG traffic showing in the ND:-
To be a bit more specific: when AIG is used to replace models and to increase livery coverage for the default Online Live Traffic it works. When you switch to Offline AI Traffic it won’t.
The reason is as you already suspected that the interface of MSFS does simply not provide this traffic via SimConnect and JS
Currently “flying” a trip from UK to Australia in the Turbo Bonanza. Over the last few legs - India to Thailand - I’ve seen/heard very little traffic in the air and next to nothing at the bigger international airports I’ve landed at. Today I landed at Bangkok International and there is nothing there. AIG Controller running okay but the map is showing nothing and nothing parked on the stands. I have realtime traffic switched on - doesn’t seem to be a problem when flying Uk.
Is the lack of “traffic” due to the addon not having data for the areas I’m currently flying in, or am I missing something? Also is the time of day relevant? I’m adjusting the sim time so I can fly VFR for the sightseeing.
