Sound seems to be the same as before.
They released V1.0.3, but there is no change log.I flew it but cannot tell what the changes are.
How is the SeaRey nowadays ~ any fixes to the sounds, texturing, and systems/bugs?
Not many updates. They added a second patch for the 1st one where the texture was Pink on one of the planes. The flap issue was fixed. I personally never really had an issue with the plane. I guess I never expected that much. I have the advanced version where you do an outside check tire percentages flap etc⦠I fly it from time to time in areas with a lot of sea docks and areas I pull up on the shore. I also like water handling on it. Probably the first plane where I was actually impressed with the water handling. It smoothly lifts off and lands on the water.
EDIT: Just loaded up to see what texture issues I was missing. Besides the back area and flap handle I think the texturing is really good.
Still look worse than many freeware
in VR it looks even worse.
āYouTubersā nowadays say they are all nice lol
@RATTMAN textures are not believable / realistic at all, having PBR nowadays is as to say your computer has a Graphic Card, it is a given, the quality overall is rather poor unfortunately and the sound has nothing to do with a Rotax. Shame as the aircraft itself could be better than the Icon.
Besides the sound the plane is quite all right. It has some nice features, but it feels a bit blend or default. I want to fly it more but i always end up flying something else.
I must have a different SeaRey. Iām just not seeing the texture issue. I have TONS of planes too. Freeware to paid. From XPlane- DCS. Which areas of the plane are not good? Iāve seen planes at 2-3 times the price with worse textures. Iām Picky too.
Did my first flight in this recently, quite happy with it. Somebody actually flew round the world in the real version in 2015, that gave me the curiosity to buy it, currently reading his book. Great visibility from it.
I got this book:
https://www.amazon.com/Travels-Puff-Gentle-Game-Death/dp/1937777030
because Bach, the auther writes about flying his Searey from Florida to Washington state.
This was before his crash.
Popped it on my wish list, hopefully it will keep me out of the marketplace.
I canāt say Iām all that impressed with it in VR, and the landing physics on water are just strange. Doesnāt feel like a sea plane at all.
Picked this one up and yes, the sounds are the worst Iāve seen in any MSFS release. The droning loop is simply beyond a bad effort, totally unacceptable and indefinitely irritating to the point where I cannot stand to fly the thing. It destroys their entire effort. Itās that bad. Guess Iāll be looking at ways I can modify the sounds if I want to use the thing.
Iām also thinking about changing the sound.
Bought this in the summer sale for the price of a couple of tickets to a horror movie, and on that basis I suppose I could say I got my moneyās worth.
Horribly unstable - yes, horribly - plus I didnāt hear any water landing sounds when I made what passes for a water landing.
Oh well. If I ever have to let someone I really donāt like have a go on my MSFS installation I now have the ideal plane to let him try first.
Iām hoping the developer will come back to polish this one upā¦pretty close to greatness, but the twitchy flight model (maybe this is a limitation of the base sim since the Beech 18 and T-6 similarly slosh around), monotonous engine sounds, low-res glare shield / flap handle texture, and missing 3D passenger model in external view hold it back.
The landing view preset on my Xbox version also dumps me entirely out of the cockpit to a point outside and ahead of the airplane; not sure if thatās intentional.
Maybe after they get done with the E-Jet, FSS will find the time to do a final round of polish on this productā¦Iāll keep my fingers crossed since it would be pretty awesome to replicate the epic journeys mentioned previously, but attempting them in the planeās current state just wouldnāt be enjoyable.
Is it still this bad? ![]()
You could try the Nardi Riviera (Manuel Noriega). A very similar aircraft, and in my opinion, a better aircraft all round than the Searey (sadly). I flew them both back to back.
i own both and i would second @XboxMonkey4665 's comment. the mn riviera is (imo) heads and tails better in all aspects than the searey plus it can be had for less than $10
Its on Sale now at inibuilds ![]()
Iāve almost bought this a couple times itās a shame they wonāt put a couple hours work into fixing it. Iāve kind of forgotten it with the Riviera, oh well.
