Aircraft Suggestions for Ramasurinen's Next Project

If you plan to make a second flying boat, could you consider the Catalina..Like the Albatross a civilian annd military variant. I think this would make very many people happy.

I agree with this, though I think I’d personally like a Mallard more. The Mallard might be an easier project anyway, because in some ways, it’s basically a smaller Albatross.

I would also love to see a Catalina done at the Mike Johnson level. Or a Short Sunderland
Bluemesh did very well with the Late 631 so perhaps there is opportunities for a collaborative project?

@P1zzarelli @zBrainlezz @UnsealedKarma36 Thanks guys. I think a Mallard or Catalina is unlikely (even though there’s a nice one at my local museum) as doing either is kind of like making the same plane all over again. If I end up doing another amphibian at some point then it’ll probably be something much smaller, of the “cheap and cheerful” variety, but… you never know!

The second major Albatross update seems to be progressing smoothly through testing now, so hopefully it’ll come with, or shortly after, SU_03 going public.

Cheers!

I am hoping this means you are thinking of developing something quite different - a great suggestion is this, a counter rotating turboprop - Tupolev Tu-114 Rossiya :folded_hands:
Top speed: 870 km/h

Engine type: Kuznetsov NK-12
Range: 9,720 km
Retired: 1975
Length: 54 m
Cruise speed: 770 km/h
First flight: 15 November 1957

Or an Antonov AN-22… but i guess it’s impossible as there is no documentation on it on the internet.

Choosing one of the aircraft on Display at the BC Aviation Museum would make research easier for this developer, I think.

The Stinson Reliant SR9-E or Luscombe Silvaire, perhaps?

Piaggio P.136 Royal Gull please!!

Or a Republic Seabee would be awesome! Another aircraft with a lot of Kenmore Air history, so very relevant to the BC / Alaska area.

Or for something completely different, a Douglas A-26 Invader, both in WWII, Korea, later Vietnam and Fire Fighting variants for Career mode. Those 2 R2800’s right next to you rumbling away… Oh my!

I absolutely adore all three of these planes.

Two of my most wanted aircraft since the FS9 days would be great candidates:

The Tupolev Tu-114 Rossiya is also in a museum in Russia, good time for a holiday with a difference

Also, it would be great to have something less westernised. Other countries have some great planes.

There is a C-119 being developed already.

I suspect you’d be hard pressed to find someone willing to go to Russia right now.

But it is a cool plane.

The A26 is cool.

Check out the Hughes XF-11

Propellers: 8-bladed [Hamilton Standard Hydromatic contra-rotating propellers.

Performance:

  • Maximum speed: 450 mph (720 km/h, 390 kn) at 33,000 ft (10,000 m); 295 mph (256 kn; 475 km/h) at sea level

DC-8 please!

A B-25 would be incredible given how good the albatross is.

And to that point I’m pretty sure both aircraft were developed for FSX as well.

B-29 or Catalina are my most longed for aircraft. Kinda surprising no one has made either of them!

Mosquito. At least there’s one in IL-2 for now, but would be nice to fly in a complete environment in MSFS doing low level to cloud surfing with two throaty merlins.
I know DCS has one too, but IL-2 is a more complete WW2 sim, and far cheaper on sales!

Avspecs Ltd. in NZ would have all the info, as they’ve built a few from scratch by now.
That sort of info all being in one place would be a huge advantage for a historical project.

I suggest the dash 8 100/ 200 series, I’ve been hoping to have and fly a good small turboprop airliner recently that’s not the Saab 340B
